Did Perry mandate ovarian cancer shots, or did he bring it up for discussion and when it was shouted down he took it off the table?
He did it a few months after an election, and he did it quietly on a Friday by executive order without any input from the legislature or parents. He just signed an executive order. It's the kind of thing you expect out of a Democrat, not a Republican.

Let me try to make a plausible case. Since Perry has been Governor of Texas, Texas has added more than 850,000 jobs, more than all other states combined. Texas has added over 180,000 jobs since August of 2009. That doesn't include he is actually fighting with Obama on various fronts. I also wouldn't be surprised if Palin endorsed him

Perrys got some campaigning to do-few people outside of Texas know anything about him. So why would he think he can win any national office? Well, considering the field so far & the state with the best economy in these tough times.
Oh, and the fact there is no such thang as PerryCare.

You get it. I get it. The American people will get it.

Perry is a nice guy. But the way he comes across to me makes George Bush look like an intellectual by comparison.

And it would be worth it, just to hear Perry tell Obama, Adios, MoFo!"Then spend money in every state except Illinois and Chicago in particular. I'd like to see him do the same nationally as the state legislature did this session. Pass voter picture ID legislation. The next issue should be the "Say no to sanctuary cities in Texas" bill.

You can opt out of the program. Besides the “conservative” legislature could still have voted it down.
http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/62417.php
“Parents who wish to opt out of the programme have to file an affidavit, giving religious or philosophical grounds for their objection. This is the same as for any other compulsory vaccination such as those against mumps and measles.”

It seems nobody on this thread has read Perry’s book “Fed Up.” I haven’t seen any references yet.
Every issue Texans on this thread have with him is a legitimate beef, but when you stand Perry up against Obama (or Romney or Newt,) it ain’t complicated.

I believe Chuck is a Texas resident, so Perry/Norris is a non-starter Constitutionally.

Rock and Roll!!
Someone that has a military background, charisma, a track record, speaks Spanish (state #1 business for 7 years). Won a state with a lot of Latinos. Several times.
It is soooo obvious!!!

He talks a good game but I have seen little in his actions to suggest he is conservative, let alone a small government free market tea party candidate.

Sarah and Perry always got along great in all the Gov meetings when she was the AK Gov. I don't see her ever being a VP candidate again...like she said, likening it to a sled dog team, that unless you were the lead dog the view never changed. McCain put her under severe constraints, and forbade her doing things that she absolutely knew were correct (continuing to campaign in MI, for example). A Palin/Perry ticket I could heartily endorse.

This isn't a cancer drug. It doesn't prevent cancer. It MAY prevent a virus that MAY cause cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is no longer a leading cause of deaths in women.
I'm sorry that you buy the propaganda. They do NOT know the long term affects of Gardasil. ESPECIALLY when administered before puberty.

Pro-Israel, Pro life, pro business. He met Obama on the tarmac and made him look small, told Obama he wouldn't meet him for his El Paso pep rally but would gladly fly over the wild fire damage with him and then take him to Brownsville. Tells the EPA to shove it. Come on folks.

That doesn’t make him the “top Republican”.
You have to be well known, and thought of by the most people as the “top Republican”.
It really comes down to how famous you are as a Republican.
None of these people are famous enough.
Democrats look for “hot”, Republicans look for “top”.

He looks like a cross between John Edwards and a Televangelist in that pic.

The Constitution didn’t stop Obama. Let’s not worry about that stuff anymore. /s

He's been governing the most successful state in the Union, not grabbing face time on TV. He actually needs to keep the grassroots groundswell going and Republicans will draft him.
When your record does the talking there really isn't much to say. Pawlenty? Gingrich? Santorum? Where's the beef. They can talk a good game but who among the "top Republicans" has Perry's record to run on? He even crushes Palin in that department.
My thought is Perry will step in and take the whole damn thing over simply on his record and back story.

He also can speak Spanish. All the better to kiss up to illegals with.
Now I understand why Obama is sitting in the WH. Ohhh, Obama's a black who cleans up good so I'm gonna vote for him!!! is no different than so many on this thread with their Ohhh, a Texas governor sounds so cool against the libs I'm gonna vote for him!!!
Yes, he's in it for another term but his opponent was Kay Bailey Hutchison. KBH of the let's open the law suits up for anyone who doesn't like the fence. She was so sure she had the governorship wrapped up because Perry had his sights on the POTUS that she sold her senate DC (VA) house and promised to step down (lie!). It's no wonder Perry won against her. Heck, my dog could have won against her.
