This Gov. is too well-connected to BigPharma not to be corrupt and a supporter of Gov.Health Care.

Adios? Adios, what??? He’s done jack on the border or the illegals already here. Do you know how many sanctuary cities Texas has? Please, before all you folks outside of Texas jump on this band wagon, read the posts from Texas freepers.

NEVER NEVER TRUST GARDASIL RICK PERRY. Let no one forget that this pig (and stockholder in Merck) tried to force every school girl in Texas to be injected with Merck’s HPV vaccine.

Well he is the only man who I see winning and he has alot of upside and has been fighting Obama since day one. He is a states rights advocate and last but not least, has a record to run on better than anyone else in the whole USA including Obama. I might also add he is not a Ivy League grad, the Bush's don't particularly like him and he was an Air Force captain who flew a C-130. Are we actually gonna pick this guy completely apart while Obama destroys our country, oh except Texas where Perry is governor and has been for 10 years.

Actually, it was Texas Republicans that got Perry to switch parties to run for that office.

Why would Sarah choose a vp from TX when it is already a reliable R state? She will choose someone from FL, OH, MO, or WI.

Perry was born a Democrat and only switched parties because a Democrat was already running for Texas Agriculture Commissioner. If this were California or the Northeast, I'd be more concerned. When you think of how dominant and how conservative the Democratic Party was in Texas and a lot of other Southern states up until fifteen or twenty years ago, I am inclined to give him a pass.

Is there a more
conservative pansy RINO major politician in the country?

Palin will not get the prize if she teams up with the likes of Perry.

He has governed conservative-ishly, but he's never struck me as a deep-in-the-soul, fire-breathing, Reagan-is-my-patron-saint, unwavering conservative ideologue.
The fact that I would even consider him viable says more about the “quality” of the current possible contenders than it says about my enthusiasm for Perry.
One of his positives is his current disdain for overreaching federalism.
To: Retired Greyhound
Not famous enough to win in 2012.
Clearly not the “top Republican”.

He is certainly generating a lot of bright shiny knives.
You can tell a lot about a person by who their enemies are. With Governor Goodhair, that is almost everyone.

Dittoes!
See my post 55. And besides that, Perry is weak on immigration. He had a chance to stand with Arizona on SB 1070. He failed - miserably.
To: Retired Greyhound
Hmmm...served active duty as an Air Force pilot. He piloted C-130's (but his campaign releases the photo with the jet trainer, so as to appear as a fighter pilot).
So, US Military service, check. This compares favorably to Obama (as well as the other GOP candidates).
He also grew up on a ranch. That's good. Lots of Presidents have had ranches. LBJ, Carter (farm), Reagan, Bush.

So I guess with Perry we can expect tax hikes, more spending on social programs, huge defense cuts, less clout in the world, more distancing from our traditional allies (Israel, Britain, Australia), ballooning deficits, more Federal control over States rights, more EPA intrusion, more abortion, more pandering to 3rd world dictators, less friendly business environment, more gun control and probably higher unemployment. Yeah screw Gov. “Goodhair” /sarc

I disagree. Palin will select a VP that will help her accomplish her agenda. Sarah’s only purpose in running is to solve problems that establishment politicians have lacked the courage to take on. Choosing a running mate to win one state is what old school politicians do. Palin doesn’t play by that rule book. I also don’t see her reaching out to the elitist wing of the GOP. This needs to be a massive tea party victory election.

I am not pushing Perry on you but read the last part of the article. He can't seriously entertain until June 1.
"Perry's aides have long made it clear that the tough-talking Texan, who succeeded George W. Bush in Austin in 2000, would not seriously entertain the idea of mounting a White House run before the state's legislative session finishes at the end of this month."
To: jessduntno
Perry/Norris. Wow. That would be quite a show. The Nuge/Norris would be an interesting ticket.
