More Than 50 U.S. Churches Agree to Hold Koran Readings
Logan's Warning ^ | May 18, 2011 | Christopher Logan

... far too many Americans who identify themselves as “Christians” are taking the easy way out and bowing down to Islam, in an effort to avoid a conflict that has been raging for 1400 years. A conflict in which Christians are clearly losing!

Pulpit pals: Christians, Jews, Muslims plan shared worship BY ADELLE M. BANKS

Religious and human rights activists are asking U.S. churches to invite Jewish and Muslim clergy to their sanctuaries to read from sacred texts next month in an initiative designed to counter anti-Muslim bigotry.

The June 26 initiative, called “Faith Shared: Uniting in Prayer and Understanding,” is co-sponsored by the Interfaith Alliance and Human Rights First. Leaders of the two Washington-based groups said the event hopes to demonstrate respect for Islam in the wake of Quran burnings in recent months.

That is more than 50 too many.

Tad Stahnke, director of policy and programs for Human Rights First, said he hopes the initiative will draw attention to religious freedom and counter negative stereotypes of Christian leaders making anti-Muslim statements.

“We want to send a message to the world,” he said, “that Americans do respect religious differences and reject religious bigotry and the demonization of Islam or any other religion.”

Tad if you really were for religious freedom you would not be promoting Islam...

My (soon to be ex) mother-in-law (proud 0bama zombie too)is part of this interfaith bull at her local crazy United Church of Christ church in the far west suburbs Illinois.

She proudly told us how she meets with all different church groups and tries to have others understand how Islam is misunderstood. There is no reasoning with her.

Happily, catholic churches don’t participate (for now)

2 John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

There’s a sucker born every minute. Turning the other cheek will only get your head cut off. Let’s roll, now!

Amen! Silly Jesus. What was He thinking to suggest such a thing?

So, I go to the website of Faith Shared, and there is a list of all the places where these "readings" will take place, and guess what. None of them are mosques. They are all Christian churches including the Washington Cathedral, for crying out loud. So, again, with Muzlims tolerance is a one-way street. Misled Christians hold Koran readings in their churches, but no one is reading from the Bible in a mosque. HOW STUPID DOES IT GET? List of churches here. See if yours is participating: http://www.faithshared.org/

When do the muslims in islamic countries begin their tolerance?
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
I John4:1

“Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;”
Deuteronomy 6:14

“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Joshua 24:15

“The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.”
Zephaniah 2:11

3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
Exodus 20:3

So, think through this with me:

1) Islam is a religion of peace, except when it’s not:
a. in an effort to convert all the world to Islam, or,
b. to dispatch unbelieving infidels to meet their maker; or,
c. when Muslims disagree with one another.

2) Therefore, the world will be at peace when all the world is converted to Islam.

3) Except that Muslims kill more Muslims than anyone else, so how will converting the world to Islam ever bring peace?

Is it possible that Islam never has been and never will be a religion of peace???

Sadly, I must agree, the Church is a mess. The leadership is intellectually and morally confused. Supposedly devout and churchgoing people, by and large, consider it acceptable to support pro-abortion candidates, including the most extreme among those: Barack 0bama. Inclusion is now an exalted virtue, when once a sinner was expected to resolve sincerely to sin no more rather than parade with pride. Social justice is another newly discovered virtue. Tolerance, inclusion, diversity, suppression of moral judgement, all distorted absurdly.
As a famous atheist once observed, in a compromise between good and evil, only evil benefits.
When the temple was a den of thieves, Jesus trashed it.
What is afoot in the Church today is far more diabolical than the parasitical commerce He drove out violently.

Friggin Lepers!

This isn’t what Christ meant by turn the other cheek.

You don’t let someone stab you and then turn around and run towards them.

You crush them or shun them, severely.

Just a bunch of idiots.

Islam collectively has problem with the rest of the world.

When the world starts acting like adults and not love starved teenagers they will recognize Islam for its group think and begins to close the door to the dinner table on Moslems.

Then Moslems can start acting like they are part of the human race by 1st treating everyone else with parity.

If it happens in my church then I’ll simply get up, walk out, and never set foot on the premises again.

And I’d be totally shocked if it happens at my church.

Sounds to me like they need more Bible reading in these churches.

The reasons we are Christians are because the deficiencies in the other books are Manifest in their readings. The Bible is not just another Book. Either it is the Truth and the others lies, or we are all doomed. They are not equal or interchangeable. Anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear can see that "Allah" is Satan.

I bought a Koran at a Library sale for 25 cents out of curiosity. I turned to the parts that explained their treatment of Jesus. I felt the rest of it was irrelevant. It was in direct conflict with the Bible teaching of Jesus. Anyone teaching that the Son of God didn't appear in the flesh is heresy, period! All the rest is not threatening to your salvation. We can agree to disagree on the other stuff. You either believe or you don't. I don't see any middle ground. These are the people that Jesus speaks of that will be vomited out as "luke warm". To treat the Bible as equal to the Koran is blasphemy, IMO. Why do we want to get along with people that pray for our death? I bet the selected readings of the Koran won't include the "killing of the infidel" parts.

Mostly non-Christian “churches:” UCC, Unitarian, etc. One Catholic Church, run by Jesuits, of course. Several United Methodist, Presbyterian and Episcopal churches. IOW, the usual suspects.

Well, there is the notion of being kind, reaching out, and forgiving, and then there is the notion of simply being stupid. They are the latter.
