Its legal to own “assault weapons” and body armor in most all states. You just can’t use them in the commission of a felony. Meaning you can’t go knocking over liquor stores while wearing body armor.

Shame “their” is spelled wrong, third down on the right.

Joker? That’s what you call a United States Marine with two tours in combat that was murdered defending his wife and child and home? Sad.

Here is a link to a house that is very similar to the one owned by the Guerena’s.

LOL...I'm pretty sure that committing a felony is illegal whether you are wearing body armor or not! (sorry, couldn't resist) But yes, that's pretty much what I was getting at. None of the stuff that was apparently on the warrant would be illegal to own and it also sounds like none of the stuff was specifically listed as having been used in a criminal act which is currently under investigation. If that is the case then I have no idea why a warrant would even be issued. If the cops can get a warrant just to check and see if you own weapons then that's news to me....and pretty doggone scary.

Here’s a better example of the house involved in this.

That’s an awesome list of signals. I may have to “borrow” some of them.

Hmm....must have been a real bear to see all the way down that hallway. It appears to be one of those "special invisible" kind of hallways.

This thing just keeps stinking more and more.

It could be dark if the blinds/curtains were drawn. I would expect someone who works all night to have a dark house during the day time, but this lawyer says that they were standing with the door wide open with sunlight coming in. However, there are trees in the front yard of the house in question. I’m not sure how much light is let in there. But I don’t get these SWAT guys not going in to the living room which is right at the front door. There’s probably a reason.

>Interesting. Why didn’t they say this from the beginning?

My guess: because the incriminating items weren’t there in the beginning...

Lawyer said that the officers had no choice but to shoot because the homeowner pointed a gun at them. And he had to know they were police because of their uniforms and they said they were police. Shoot 70 times and then ask questions later.

What you’re failing to realize is that the police cannot be wrong, because as Law Enforcement Officers every action they take is Right, Just and Legal by virtue of the Law Enforcement committing those acts.

The fact that the SWAT officers have retained an attorney tells you everything you need to know.

I've often wondered why so many "innocent" persons retain criminal defense lawyers.

Fixed.

I'm sure that there was a reason and I really suspect that the reason involved having to figure out how to explain the recently ventilated body laying on the floor. Everything about this just screams that someone on the entry team AD's into the door and then everyone else opened up. Nothing about this says to me that this was a highly trained and practiced entry team. In fact, I'm pretty sure that stuff like this is exactly why Andy only gave Barney one bullet.

Nonsense, I would retain an attorney for anything beyond a jaywalking ticket. Our legal system is not about justice or reality. It is about hurting the person with the least defense. We no longer have a just or civil society but instead one that is more like 1984.

Why would any person with any survival instinct decide he could fire on 5 armed men, all pointing their assault weapons at at him, and live?

Our legal system is not about justice or reality.

...and, who knows that better than a bunch of cops?
