Democratic U.S. lawmakers have asked Congressional panels to look into whether Koch, an energy company led by brothers who are powerhouses in conservative politics, will benefit if the Obama administration approves a $7 billion pipeline to bring crude from Canada into the United States.
U.S. Representatives Henry Waxman and Bobby Rush wrote a letter on Friday to Republicans chairing the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and one of its subcommittees, asking them to request documents from Koch Industries regarding the extent to which the company would benefit if the Keystone XL oil sands line would be built.
Privately held Koch is co-owned by David Koch, the founder of Americans for Prosperity -- a group aligned with the conservative Tea Party movement -- and his brother Charles. The Koch family has also funded conservative causes in energy including giving $1 million to back a proposition in California last year that would have put on hold a state law to set limits on greenhouse gas emissions.

Reuters prints this to help put pressure on Repubs to investigate a Republican-supporting company. If Repubs sent a letter requesting Dems to investigate a lefty-supporting organization, Reuters would probably ignore it.
They should respond by investigating whether Soros benefits from US money going to Petrobras.
This is straight from the Alinsky handbook.
Remember to these flaming scumbags, only the “right” people can benefit.
Politics as class warfare - the Democratic Party is shameless. They never investigate themselves yet are very, very guilty.
Why doesn’t the gop play these games?
What exactly is the problem in having an interest in this?
And so they might... so what, unless there is some undue influence vs. national energy interests on who builds the pipe line or where it is located. Somebody whether Koch or whoever is going to earn profits here, not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Is it me or are we getting into Bill of Attainder area here?
how?
WTF?
did anyone ever investigate this?:
“IG report shows Obama WH rewrote Gulf spill report to support moratorium”
When the Obama White House announced its moratorium on drilling in the Gulf of Mexico after the BP-Deepwater Horizon catastrophe in April, the administration insisted that they followed the recommendations of its panel of experts. This story blew up when the panel of experts insisted that they had not recommended any kind of blanket moratorium, and that one simply wasnt necessary to address the deficiencies at MMS that contributed to the catastrophic fire and spill. A new report from the Inspector General probing the White House response accuses the administration of rewriting key sections of the report in order to falsely give the impression that the panel had made that recommendation:

The White House rewrote crucial sections of an Interior Department report to suggest an independent group of scientists and engineers supported a six-month ban on offshore oil drilling, the Interior inspector general says in a new report.
In the wee hours of the morning of May 27, a staff member to White House energy adviser Carol Browner sent two edited versions of the department reports executive summary back to Interior. The language had been changed to insinuate the seven-member panel of outside experts who reviewed a draft of various safety recommendations endorsed the moratorium, according to the IG report obtained by POLITICO.
