MSNBC Union Guest: Republicans 'Literally Deny Clothing To Foster Kids To Give Rich People Tax Cuts'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Kind of disappointing--nothing about Republicans head-butting widows or knocking the crutches from the arms of the disabled. Even so, let's give Damon Silvers credit: the union boss did claim that Republicans "literally deny clothing to foster kids to give rich people tax cuts."

AFL-CIO honcho Damon Silvers made the hysterically hyperbolic claim on Cenk Uygur's MSNBC show this evening.

Foster kids don’t make any jobs with their clothing.

It’s been said this election is going to be one of the nastiest we’ll experience. I think it’s going to be a lot more than mud slinging. It’s going to get very nasty! and the media is going to be on board.

Union have about a 5% approval rating. People think all they do it take, even worst than rich people.

Michele Bachmann provided foster care for 23 children. How many for this critic?

The only mystery is, why does Cenk Uygur have a show? Oh yeah, it sez it's MSNBC.

When we are all out of money because of government spending all the children will be left behind.

We were foster parents. Fostered one whom we adopted. Then very short term for a few others. But enough so that I really do admire someone like Michelle. One worry is that one of these kids she raised is going to pop up and accuse her of something. Just saying. That’s often what adults who were foster children do.

Exactly. Hard for these thugs to hold candle to Bachmann or most any conservative when it comes to real compassion - defined by what you do with your own money and not what you do with other peoples money.

This election will be union thugs versus the Union.

Republicans (conservatives) historically give more of their money to charities than do liberals...liberals want to give YOUR money to charity and then take the credit for it.

Conservatives also tip better than liberals.

You are correct about that...but I don't think its going to work.

In the past all of these ridiculous charges worked because the American economy was booming, most folks were doing well and the people making those charges "appeared" to be members of the downtrodden. The general feeling was that America was rich enough to afford to take care of everyone and anyone who disagreed with that was meanspirited. Now, the economy isn't doing well, people are more concerned about their own wellbeing and are also suspicious of the wealthy memebers of the unions, academia and the media who are making the ridiculous charges.

Yes, it will be a tough election cycle, but I feel that most Americans are wary now of the left and more concerned about what kind of country we will leave to our children/grandchildren.

liberals want to give YOUR money to charity and then take the credit for it after deducting a substantial handling fee for regulation, bureaucracy, union dues, etc.

Overcharging governments with outrageous union labor rates is not harming the foster kids?
