It amazes me that California is actually lower than Florida in the tax department. But once Jerry Brown figures out how to kill off Prop 13 caps, that'll end...
The US Census Bureau already has the coordinates so they’ll just pass that info on to FEMA.
A broken clock is correct twice a day. If the NOAA doesn’t get it right this year does that mean we can call The Donald and have him fire the whole lot?
To be fair, Scott wants lower taxes (hopefully, he’ll get it done) and we have no income tax. Florida is a excellent place to relocate to. The beaches alone make it worth it!
About this time, year before last, wifey and I made the driving "friends and family" tour around the southeast. We entered at Pensacola and spent two nights in Destin, then down to Lakeland, further down to Sanibel/Cape Coral, then over to Ft. Pierce and up to Daytona for another three nights -- and it was just before Memorial Day, so we had the town to ourselves.
Wrapped up the Florida leg with a daytrip to St. Augustine, then up to JAX/Middleburg before heading out to Georgia. You're right about the beaches.....but it was Lovebug season, and the old Camry never quite recovered.
Hurricain Herman!
Was it not long after Katrina (maybe it was Ivan) they predicted “millions” of hurricanes would get us because of global warming? They even doubled up on the assigned names—these people have out done themselves in stupidity before.
Here’s my prediction—some where, some place, it is going to rain today.
Yeah, we’re deep into love bug season right now. They come in May and September and have been getting thicker every year. They’re a member of the fly family and as far as I can tell, totally worthless (unless you’re looking for an insect that will remove the paint from your car if you leave its little guts on your car). If you would have gone south instead of north from Ft. pierce, you would have escaped the little buggers!
Looks like the list of names begin with:
Arlene, then Bret, Cindy, Don, Emily, Franklin, Gert, Harvey, Irene.
That should keep us busy for a while.

Next Hurricane Season will see the end of all life as we know it in those hurricane-attracting regions where hurricane defenses were allowed to deteriorate by George Bush.
People of color, single mothers, children, Gays and Lesbians (always make that distinction, please), Hispanics, the Elderly, the Handicapped, and the Transgendered will of course, suffer most because Republicans just don't care. The big corporations will make millions from the poor in this Killer Hurricane Season by marking up flashlight batteries, emergency canned goods, oil lamp fuel, and rubber boots because that's all they care about.
I agree with our President Obama (May Peace Be Upon Him), the rich should pay more "Hurricane Taxes."
Thanks, when I get back from Kandahar soon I’ll sit down with my insurance agent and ask these questions about the coverage.
If you think of anything else, please let me know.
I’ve been in Florida from Minnsota only since 2007 and I’m not up on much of the insurance games.
“Titusville”
Sweet. I went to middle and high school there.
