Ed Schultz apologized on MSNBC for calling radio host Laura Ingraham (who in contrast to Big Ed actually has listeners) a slut on his radio show. I put apologized in quotes because what Schultz was really apologizing for was putting his bottom rated MSNBC gig in jeopardy. Therefore, allow me to put Schultzs apology in italics followed by a translation of what he really meant in the brackets:
On my radio show yesterday, I used vile and inappropriate language when talking about talk show host Laura Ingraham. I am deeply sorry, and I apologize.
[You bet Im deeply sorry. Im deeply sorry that I put my big paycheck low rated MSNBC show at risk of being cancelled.]
It was wrong, uncalled for and I recognize the severity of what I said. I apologize to you, Laura and ask for your forgiveness.
[But mostly I am asking my new Comcast overlords to overlook Big Ed engaging in yet more Psycho Talk.]

FYI. This is the Schultz column that I mentioned last night.
Thanks PJ-Comix.
I heard the “apology” on the Wilkow Majority show yesterday. It was actually a well-done apology, none of the weaselly “if anyone was offended ...” garbage that implies, “Nothing wrong with me, it’s your fault for caring.”
Whether it’s sincere is a totally different issue, of course. I doubt it - that’s just the way leftists talk about women who aren’t fellow leftists.
He will follow olberdick... someone at nbc is starting to talk with financial advisors and making changes to stop the bleeding out of their investments... and this turd was a BAAAAADDDDD investment.

In his apology he never said his accusation was incorrect. He never said “Laura, I know you’re not a slut. I know you to be a decent woman”.
It's a free country but if MSNBC had any sense of justice they would fire Ed Schultz. An apology should not suffice. It didn't for Imus.
Good observation. Laura could take this fat ass stooge out with one good smack. He is simply insane with hatred. What has Laura said about all of this? I haven’t been able to listen to her lately.
Laura played it down on O’Reilly last night. She said she accepted the apology and that she does not like to play the victim. Apart from that I think she does not want to give Schultz more attention.
Schultz has been trying to goad conservative commentators with big audiences into a fight. All to elevate his insignificant self. She isn’t taking the bait.
IMO, Don Imus acquiesced in his own firing. He apologized when he should have stood up, called Al Sharpton a gutterhugging race pimp and dared Sharpton to do something about it, told the rest of the race hustlers to go bleep themselves, then said to the network, “Go ahead, you b@stards, fire me for being politically incorrect!”
The outcome might have been the same, but there would have been no groveling.
Fat Ed got nothing but the merest slap on the wrist. After all, his target was only an evil conservative woman.
Drunk Ed has a web site, drop him a line. Ask Him about shooting His dog, or getting sh!t faced, or about Maureen Zimmerman, first wife, who was abused, knocked around.
Google ed schultz wife beating, dog shooting, its all there.
and this clown would beat Laura to a pulp if He could get away with it.
He is only sorry his mouth got ahead of him.
It is incredible that anyone would ever think Ed deserved a show of any kind but even such clowns as he can serve a useful purpose. Ed would make a wonderful training dummy to use at an army boot camp. The new recruits could punch, kick and otherwise throw him around for however long he lasted.
Comcast should dump this fat disgusting mental case asap. And, right behind him, dump Maddow and O’Donnell. He is a complete unhinged and bad-tempered nut.
Comcast has to be wondering just what the hell they bought from G.E., other than a collection of middle-aged deranged on-air people that lack emotional maturity.
I think it’s part of the Union language, being grossly rude, racist, mysoginist and homosexual/perverted at that. Schulz and the like of John Steward are this maggot trash rolling dog types.
Also they want to introduce the term and own it, and thus own people. I have a black niece and I cannot stand when black people seem to think they can use the N word, thus eventualy “pimp” righting themselves in owning her. They all are incontinent.
Ed forgot to say he took himself out of context.
Excellent observations. I hadn't thought about it quite that way, but I think you are right.
Indeed.
The accurate, but politically incorrect, observation about Black quarterbacks by Rush during his short-lived ESPN venture was nothing compared to this.
I like the way that you think!

If "none of that matters," Ed, then why do you mention it--other than to work your lame excuses into your required "apology"?
