Don't Support Palin for 2012 (ZOT!)

Posted on 06/02/2011 12:31:59 PM PDT by Conservative Coulter Fan

I know I’m going to garner a lot of bitter reactions, but I just have to question this devotion to Sarah Palin as our candidate for 2012. Am I the only one that thinks conservatives are falling into the whole cult of personality with regard to Sarah Palin much the same way the Left did with Obama? I’m not comfortable with her just bailing on Alaska, she’s the one that allowed Levi Johnston to knock up her daughter, and I don’t want a reality TV. candidate - I want a serious conservative thinker with the stomach for policy. I’d much rather have Michele Bachmann or Herman Cain. Anyhow, that’s just my opinion. Let the hate begin..

It sure did. I looked up that other forum and nothing that worked came up.

Highlander was a TV show and several movies. Rysher was the producer and they opened a forum. It lasted at least 8 years and spawned a bunch of "Mac" groups like "MacLeods, MacWoWs" etc.

I like FR's simple easy to use format. It is a great place to get news, connect with other conservatives, and there are no ads (so I don't have to worry about getting cookies and malware).

I don't even bother following the DUmmie FUnnie threads any more opting to just read the summary and a few comments. I've followed the link over to that site a couple of times and it's nigh impossible to navigate through the clutter, the excessive use of JavaScript and other fancy (but needless) eye candy.

Content is what it's all about. That's what stands out here on Free Republic. The interface ("look and feel") are the epitome of a clean, user-friendly design. In fact, I've noticed that the Fox News website has devolved within the past year or so to become a bloated, slow-to-load mess.

The reality is that breaking news is typically posted faster on Free Republic than any other source (even scooping Drudge frequently). That was certainly the case with the Japanese quake a few weeks ago when FR broke the story before any other media I was following that night. I'll go so far as to state that even if you don't agree with the Conservative philosophy that underpins Free Republic, at least keep a browser tab open on it 24/7 to find out what's happening anywhere in the world...first.

Folks like Sarah Palin because she has character, proven executive abilty, and is more like them then many of the other political candidates that are fast leading us over the cliff while looking down their noses at us. It doesn’t hurt that she is an optimistic, attractive, and happy person with a large and active family.

Yeah, DU is hard to navigate and a mess (I always have to do virus/cookie/malware scans when I chance to go there)

And yes, it is cool how so many things break first on FR before other major news groups pick them up.

You might not know this, but depending on which web browser you’re using, you can disable the rendering of graphics. Perhaps you should consider this. I can assure you that I’m not a child.

And you can acquire some manners and good taste. I would expect a 16 year old who watches Southpark, Bevis and Butthead etc to post such garbage. Generally grownups know when and where certain things are appropriate. Sad to say you seem to fall into the first category.

You got offended over little to nothing. Those graphics weren't pointed at you so don't take it personally. Are you the designated Manners Patrolman here at FR? Do you alone define good taste here? I seriously doubt it. If you're in a bad mood and felt the need to take it out on somebody, then I'm the wrong person. You'll figure this out if you keep it up wise guy.

Lighten up grouch, and disable graphics on your web browser if you don't like the pictures. If you don't know how, then find the little "Help" button at the top of your web browser. Click on it and start reading. That's a good place to start. It should keep you busy for awhile so you won't be irritating strangers by lecturing them about manners and good taste...at least for awhile. Or, if you're truly offended, then complain to the admin mods. I always abide by their rulings.

On a related note though, I went through your past postings and think I know why I irritated you. You're on dial up. I've already made those graphics smaller twice in the past to accommodate FR participants on dial up, so you're just out of luck this time. Since you're on dial up, I guess you aren't catching Beavis and Butthead, or Southpark on YouTube eh? :-)

No actually my parents taught me there's a time and a place for some things especially crudeness. Yea I can be crude as anyone. I generally just don't do such in public.

I'll leave my graphics setting turned on because there are some good useful ones posted in here. Look if you are in here to support a person for POTUS your idiotic cartoons like the ones in question do them no favors. You may even be insulting the person you supposedly support. But some how that too will likely go right over your head or in one ear and out the other.

If you are a Palin supporter maybe you should look at your cartoons again and you might see that your cartoon would be something posted in DU. But something tells me you lack the good sense to even understand why.

Uh oh, you are now officially on the Palinstinian list for carbombing and rocket attacks.

...and you wonder why the left thinks they can get away with attempting to blame Palin for the Jared Loughner shooting?

Would it be possible to issue an official admonishment here for hyperbole above and beyond the call of even a crevo thread?

There is nothing new Sarah Palin is saying. It's been said before.

As she even admits and -- not to put too fine a point on it -- gushes over.

You remind me of an atheist who thinks he's scored a coup against Christians because he discovers hypocrites in the Church (ignoring the parable of the Wheat and the Tares and numerous warnings from St. Paul).

Cheers!

Sure you got the right guy? I don't remember posting on this thread. But I do agree there is nothing new Sarah Palin is saying. I go way back to the days of early National Review with WFB, William Rusher, and Milton Friedman. So for an old hand like me, there is nothing new she's saying. And I'm also not impressed with the rock star status she's achieved. These huge crowds she draws baffle me. Does this remind you of anyone else?

So you go and comment to a thread that’s been dead since June, exactly why?

If I did not know better, I’d think you’re trying to pick (more) fights.

Tell me I am wrong about that.
