Please make it stop (Sarah hit piece)
Washington Post ^ | June 3,2011 | Greg Sargent

Everyone has already had a grand old time mocking this video of Sarah Palin bungling her Paul Revere history, but I actually think it amounts to quite an eloquent statement. It’s as eloquent an argument as anyone could make that this woman really should not be treated by any of us as anything resembling a presidential candidate until it’s absolutely necessary — which is to say, until she actually runs for president.

I don’t agree. I don’t think she’d see herself as a “cheerleader” for others. She could make or break somebody, frankly.

But I think she wants to stir up people’s courage and enthusiasm with this tour, but not necessarily to run herself. Unless we get courage and enthusiasm and hope back, we’re not going to win in 2012.

And I think she wants us to win, but if she doesn’t want to be the candidate, she wants to have a lot of say in picking him or her. Which she should have. But the only way to get around the GOP establishment, which has already nominated the unelectable Romney, is to build her base and work outside of the “system.”

WaPo Hires Lefty Blogger Greg Sargent, Foe of Conservative ‘Wingnut Mendacity’

Greg Sargent, who worked for the Bush-bashing blog Talking Points Memo and for a time wrote a poor-man’s-Media-Matters blog called “The Horse’s Mouth” attacking the idea of liberal media bias

Sargent signed off to his hard-core liberal readership this way:

I’m heading over to The Washington Post, where I’ll be writing the lead blog on a new site that WaPo is launching. This will drive you mad with curiosity, unfortunately, but the details on the new site and blog will only be forthcoming when it launches the week after next.

In response to saddened TPM readers, asking him if he’d back to the partisan blogging for 2012, he said “all I can say is I really hope to be part of TPM again...”

Washington Post’s Greg Sargent Demands Unions Get Violent

The Washington Post’s leftwing mouthpiece, Greg Sargent, who they ostensibly pay to be an objective reporter is on twitter demanding that unions in Wisconsin get violent to get their way.

on Twitter that Sargent was calling for unions to get violent in Wisconsin, Sargent declared he was not promoting violence despite actually writing on twitter:

Dear union thugs: Will you please get violent in Wisconsin already? Pretty please?

“...we were gonna be secure and we were gonna be free … and we were gonna be armed.”

Sounds good to me. Paul Revere would likely approve.

Sarah has them literally running in circles! This is a great maneuver. It’s fun to watch the press fall all over themselves. LOL!

JournoListas like Greg Sargent formally of Soros-funded Talking Points Memo never gain national attention except in scathing critiques on blogs by people lamenting the loss of journalistic integrity from people who live off the unearned credit of the term “journalist.”

Greg Sargent of the Washington Post’s The Plum Line Blog recently posted a piece scolding BigJournalism.com for not properly observing journalistic ethics. Yet in the process Sargent made a number of assumptions based on his own biased beliefs and ultimately ended up not only muddying the waters but seeming to commit the same errors he claimed Big Journalism was perpetrating.

“Thank Goodness that Sarah didn’t say that her bus tour was going to visit 57 states.”

Maybe she should say it!

“Just as Ubama said, we’re going to visit all 57 States!” Then burst out laughing!

Fair enough, but you’re going to lose a Weiner! LOL Seriously, I think that with the excitement that she has engendered among her partisans, were she to decline to run now, her influence would never again be more than a fraction of what it is. We see her as someone who will begin righting our ship of state on Day 1. BHO’s executive orders, GONE immediately, for example. Bob

Palin should not be fumbling things like this. All it does is give the media ammunition for their dishonest commentary. Surely she can do a better job of preparing.

"Thank Goodness that Sarah didn't say that her bus tour was going to visit 57 states. Can you imagine the media uproar if she had said that?"

I wish she would have said that. The MSM would of rushed to put that all over the news before they realized that Sarah just slapped 'em a good one.

They actually have a code of ethics.

Society of Professional Journalists

For Example:

Journalists should:

— Test the accuracy of information from all sources and exercise care to avoid inadvertent error. Deliberate distortion is never permissible.
— Diligently seek out subjects of news stories to give them the opportunity to respond to allegations of wrongdoing.
— Identify sources whenever feasible. The public is entitled to as much information as possible on sources' reliability.
— Always question sources’ motives before promising anonymity. Clarify conditions attached to any promise made in exchange for information. Keep promises.
— Make certain that headlines, news teases and promotional material, photos, video, audio, graphics, sound bites and quotations do not misrepresent. They should not oversimplify or highlight incidents out of context.
— Never distort the content of news photos or video. Image enhancement for technical clarity is always permissible. Label montages and photo illustrations.
— Avoid misleading re-enactments or staged news events. If re-enactment is necessary to tell a story, label it.
— Avoid undercover or other surreptitious methods of gathering information except when traditional open methods will not yield information vital to the public. Use of such methods should be explained as part of the story
— Never plagiarize.
— Tell the story of the diversity and magnitude of the human experience boldly, even when it is unpopular to do so.
— Examine their own cultural values and avoid imposing those values on others.
— Avoid stereotyping by race, gender, age, religion, ethnicity, geography, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance or social status.
— Support the open exchange of views, even views they find repugnant.
— Give voice to the voiceless; official and unofficial sources of information can be equally valid.
— Distinguish between advocacy and news reporting. Analysis and commentary should be labeled and not misrepresent fact or context.
— Distinguish news from advertising and shun hybrids that blur the lines between the two.
— Recognize a special obligation to ensure that the public's business is conducted in the open and that government records are open to inspection.
