Iran's Nukes: Apocalypse Soon?
IBD Editorials ^ | June 8, 2011 | Staff

Posted on 06/08/2011 5:28:33 PM PDT by Kaslin

Terror: Iran is speeding up its nuclear materials production and moving it underground amid reports that the regime is eight weeks from atomic bomb capability. Doomsday, anyone?

Tehran announced Wednesday that it will triple its production of high-grade uranium and relocate enrichment operations underground.

This comes just days after the Rand Corp. determined that the Islamofascist government is less than two months from being able to build a nuclear explosive, and that only an occupation force — not just airstrikes — can stop it.

On Friday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad repeated his demand that Israel go away. "As long as the Zionist regime exists, if only on a small piece of land in Palestine, the region will not see tranquility," he declared at the grave of the Ayatollah Khomeini.

Year after year, the American people have made it clear they view a nuclear Iran as an unacceptable risk, and the most recent results of the IBD/TIPP Poll, shown above, found that those sentiments remain strong.

Yet the poll also shows a loss of confidence in our government's ability to prevent this terrorist-sponsoring state from joining the nuclear family.

In the years during which Iran has moved toward weapons of mass destruction, the free nations have irresponsibly played a kind of nuclear "hot potato," expecting someone else — usually Israel — to stop Tehran. But Israel itself is not immune to the trigger shyness: Last month, ex-Mossad chief Meir Dagan said an Israeli attack on Iran would be a "stupid thing."

i second that !!! ...don’t need to take out all of Mecca. ONLY the kaada (black meteorite) needs to be destroyed.

and i agree about Obama. strange how after 40 years since he was in Indonesia muslim school, he was still able to recite the Muslim prayers perfectly, in a flawless accent. (according to the TIMES!) ...and that prayer, contains the shahada... the Muslim profession of faith “there is no god but Allah, and Mohammad is his messenger”. saying that, makes you a muslim according to muslims.

..long list of links for evidence again, anyone?
///
i’d be interested in reading some of them. both about Iran, and about Rice.

...that’s one of my main reasons for being on FR... to learn from people who have experience and knowledge i don’t.

...the only areas i claim good knowledge, is about Islam and the “global warming” hoax. every day here, i am surprised by what i learn here...

As a student of a Catholic high school, the Sisters of Loretta taught me, I am pleased to be at an institution of higher education with such strong and celebrated Catholic and Jesuit traditions . . . You see, I got my Master's Degree at Notre Dame. (Boos.) I acquired a passion for the fighting Irish . . . and my family has been college educated and Presbyterian ever since. (Laughter and applause.) . . . I wandered into a course on international politics taught by a Czech refugee who specialized in Soviet studies, a man who had a daughter by the name of Madeleine Albright. With that one class, I was hooked. I discovered that my passion was Russia and all things Russian.

Yes. Thank you for looking. I’m glad that Web page still exists. One point of argument against Israel a few years ago was the claim that Israel wanted to cease to exist, and that President Bush was only grudgingly agreeing.

I think that Israel will wait until Iran successfully performs an underground test before initiating military action.

Wow! Rice said the same thing as Obama, 6 YEARS ago !!!

“The Road Map plan calls for a “viable” - i.e., territorially-contiguous - Arab state in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. Rice, as well, emphasized this point to Weisglass. This means that Gaza must be connected with a land-line to Judea, effectively dividing Israel in half, north and south of the Gaza-Hevron connection.”

why would they waste their precious tiny amount on an underground test?
...instead of testing it on a ship in NY or Tel Aviv harbor?

The same reason why we did the Trinity test in July of 45. They must be sure it works before mass producing the design. The North Koreans are planing another test, it could be an Iranian design, the last test they did were in the 2 to 4 it range. A plutonium design should be in the 17 to 20 kt range.

respectfully, ...and?

...a test is a test. there is no benefit for them to do it underground, as opposed to the cargo hold of ship offshore,
or even in the back of a 18 wheeler.

sure, there are dangers and logistical problems, but with the limiting factor now being the supply of fissionable material...

if it fails to detonate, they lose nothing. if it does, they still have their data, AND they kill a lot of Jews, which is their “prime directive”.

“Road Map” to Armageddon

http://www.thebereancall.org/node/2589
///
thank you Sir, that is an EXCELLENT article. great summary.

...it covers MANY aspects, in history, religion, etc.

i would only add a few minor quibbles.
1) they repeatedly speak of the word of Mohammad being unchangable. incorrect.
the Quran is the eternal unchanging unchangable word of ALLAH. (Mohammad was only the messenger, much as PROPHET Joseph Smith was give the power to translate, by God.)

2) they went straight from ancient history to current, ignoring the Balfour declaration, and a binding international agreement to Create a much larger Israel than today.
here, just over 2:00 in:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gUygq_RtgQ

3) they also omitted the very real miracle predicted in the Bible, that Israel would be recreated “in a single day”.
It is amazing enough, for an ancient Nation to be recreated. Poland did it. but, the UN DID do it, in a single day. This should get the attention even of an atheist...

rest of the article was great, top notch. i wish you would post it by itself as an article. thanks !
