Kasich Plans Golf Outing With Obama, Biden, Boehner
The Columbus Dispatch ^ | June 10, 2011 | Joe Vardon

Posted on 06/11/2011 1:36:45 AM PDT by Lancey Howard

Gov. John Kasich has a special round of golf coming up.

Kasich will join President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. House Speaker John Boehner as the fourth member in a golf foursome that will take to the links June 18.

Kasich spokesman Rob Nichols confirmed Kasich's place in the foursome, and the Cincinnati-area Republican Boehner said as much on his Twitter account.

Obama and Boehner, both avid golfers, scheduled the golf outing to smooth over some of their differences as they seek a compromise over raising the national debt limit and cutting spending.

Not sure why people are so upset on this thread.

I for one am glad Kasich is going. He's doing good stuff in Ohia and hasn't backed down one inch with the unions.

Doesn't hurt to have him in DC talking up the cause.

i feel personnaly that kasich is doing the things necessary to bring ohio back from the brink.

Yes, it doesn't hurt to see him allied with Boehner here.

They're NOT going to just be talking handicaps all day.

(Wouldn't be surprised to see Kasich run for Pres. again sometime BTW now that he's getting exec. experience. And he will play VERY well on TV to the public with a Mr. Smith persona.)

Knee jerk selfrightousness

The possibility exists that Kasich is on a reconnaissance mission set up by his buddy Boehner to study how a president goes golfing. When he is President he will have some Presidential golfing experience.

Would a Dem running for office be willing to appear with him on a golf outing?

Not in most states.

I could just scream. Millions of people out of work, millions more struggling to make ends meet.

And the jackwagon Boehner goes GOLFING with the jerk that’s responsible. It’s enough to make a grown man cry.

Oh, wait.

As always beltway Republicans are running from a confrontation with Barry. They refuse to turn up the heat on this unserious leader and demand he produce a current scorable budget. The sad part is only zero will get bipartisan brownie points from the MSM. Republicans gain nothing from this political theater.

This just serves to illustrate how out of touch the DC political elite are.

The entire country going down the toilet and the most important thing for these idiots is to go golfing to have a group hug.

They all need to be thrown out on their asses.

Greetings lodi90:

Speaking of beltway; I’d love to see our members of congress telecommute to Washington. They already “speak” to an empty chamber; so why have them in Washington?

Bonus: Becoming 535 times more expensive for lobbyists to distract our members of congress. Extra Bonus: Totally destroys the beltway bird cage liners and alphabet Networks death grip upon our members of congress attention span.

Cheers,
OLA

At a time in our history where literally millions of people are struggling to get by, the amount of golf that the idiots in Washington play indicates a lack of seriousness. D.C. needs a great flood to come along and wash away the scum sucking the life out of this country.

This is the ‘sickest’ charade of elected officials imaginable. Boehner is in character but I would have thought Kasich was above such an act. This just goes to show how our government goes from the public discourse to the private wheeling dealing. A few drinks in the club house before and after the golfing and Boehner will be all set to know what Obama and his enablers expect him to deliver.

It is astonisheing that this rogues gallery of jack-in-the-box clowns has already forgotten that George W. Bush gave up trips to the golf course shortly after taking office as President, out of basic decency and respect.

I hear ya. I know this is terrible and GOD forgive me, but I honestly find myself wishing the great tornado outbreak of April 25-27 had hit DC instead of Alabama and Mississippi.

Kasich is no dummy..doesn't mince words and hates obama.

Let's see what part he plays in this “outing”...he's shrewd and Boehner is a loose cannon to be watched over...all bluff and no action. John? Not at all.

Kasich is a dummy, didn’t he fall for Gary Condit a decade ago and urged the GOP to leave Condit unopposed one year.

I’m not sure I agree with this, but Kasich is no dummy. You make a lot of good points, but anyone who lists Paul Craig Roberts as one of their favorite columnists isn’t as smart as they think they are. You come across as arrogant.
