As he states in the article, he was not allowed to know the exact charges made against him.

"I'm bothered by the fact that Fr. Corapi has made this announcement on his own, without any word from his superiors. That makes me very uneasy."I believe he is only announcing to the subscribers to his website/service. The formal announcement will be made by his bishop, but having just had a somewhat similar circumstance in our diocese, I can tell you that the diocesan "powers that be" are NOTORIOUSLY SLOW about announcing these things. Pray.

“...he was not allowed to know the exact charges made against him.”
It would have been illuminating, coming to it ignorant as I did, even knowing the inexact charges, which elsewhere are mentioned.

We put a window into our priest’s office, at his request. Some priests have taken to having a camera w/o sound and not aimed at the face for confession.

In all sex related “crimes” in this country, the accused is assumed guilty from the start. Check out these very pages! Haven’t you heard of sexual harassment charges at workplaces? I have seen innocent men, straight, homosexual, accused, demoted and thrown out of work.

This story stops one's blood from circulating. A shock to the system. It is especially chilling to me on the heels of my dealings with the Catholic school where I teach, the parish that oversees it, and the bishop himself. Personnel have been, as Father Corapi states, treated like discarded rubbish. And in amazement I have stared into the eyes of those that lie from positions of power in Catholic institutions.
Just since summer break began, I began to dwell on the nature of power. I believe government to be an evil, albeit a necessary one in rare circumstances. Our relation to government is to keep it in check, to mitigate its perpetual drive toward evil, which I believe at root stems from its power over others.
Our Holy Mother Church is every bit as susceptible to Satan's power tool through the clergy. It is invariably the one with the greater power who is so prone to corruption.
I brought Father Peter Stravinskas out here for a faith conference some years ago, and I remember him saying that regeneration of the Church had always been initiated by the laity. Perhaps this has to do with power at the top, and priests who do stand for righteousness are simply intimidated from speaking against it.
I can say that I love the man Fr. Corapi, and I love his speaking the truth.

Angry? I had a Priest that had an affair with my wife, which led to a divorce (her choice), and then he resigned his priesthood and married her 3 months later. Excuse me, I have no sympathy. I had a mutual friend that had supper with the local bishop later on, and he was asking for donations to the church. She told him that he should talk to her friend (me)—she said he already donated a wife. Do I sound bitter? You betcha. This person was in a position of trust and threw it all away. And by the way, he portrayed himself as a good friend to me. He will be talking to G-d at some point.

Ever since Vatican II, the American Catholic Church has been driven backwards at an astonishing speed. And don't even get me started with the Jesuit Order of Priests (Talk about "bottom dwellers"). No my Catholic friend, the Catholic Church in this country, at least, is doomed; destroyed from within just like the country at large.
Not even Jesus Christ himself can fix this mess. Strange you mention Judas. He was not a priest of the Catholic Church since the Catholic Church had not yet been established. He was a disciple as I recall. Someone was a bad judge of character.

Very sad to learn of this. Evil is busy....
The conversion story of Father Corapi had a great impact on my journey to the Catholic Church.

Perhaps, from the point of view of the saints, John Corapi should have remained silent and gladly accepted whatever suffering came his way. But it isn’t our responsibility to judge him for being insufficiently saintly.

I love the Catholic Church. I love Father Corapi. I think this is reprehensible, just absolutely disgusting. Satan wins.
Oh, and very often I have a REAL BIG problem with humans.

Yep! Same thing happened with Euteneuer's victims, but he was guilty.

The identity of the accuser is not revealed...based on a totally unsubstantiated, undocumented allegation from a demonstrably troubled personHow can this person be demonstrably troubled if the identity of the person is not known?
will not try to fight this irrational and unjust situation for the simple reason that I dont want to be placed in an adversarial posture against the Church.
I have listened to quite a few of ex-Father Corapi's sermons. As far as I can tell, he has had an adversarial posture against the Church for the past 20 years. That's why he supported himself with his own income.
