Consider Matthew 20:1-15 or the thief on the cross...
Cheers!
Wanna play dueling Bible verses?
Bipolar at best? Maybe, but I think I'm more pissed off than anything else!
Oh BTW, I don't hate the church, just the sanctimonious jerks that infest it.
“...if he had worked for G.M. would you forever drive a Ford?”
Cut the man some slack. If this happened to you, what would you do and how would you react? And if the transgressor was the local public face of G.M., it would be indeed to be expected that Ford’s business would skyrocket with the G.M. rep’s transgressions in the community. In this case it was far worse, as you can imagine.
The responsibilities of a priest are far greater, requiring not just an employment contract, but a vow to God, and there’s no higher judge. Even without a scandal, far from the case here, priests renouncing their vows were not to live within a specified radius of their former parishes, something like 50 miles, if memory serves.
Forgiveness can’t be demanded, especially third-hand. And the one category of people that can’t be humanly forgiven are the unrepentant, as far as I know. I got the impression that this former priest and ex-wife weren’t repentant.
I've considered many things over the course of my life grey whiskers and after being shot at, missiled at, IED at, laughed at, and spat at, let me tell you what I personally think about mankind. We're simply not worth it. It kind of makes this whole argument rather mute, doesn't it?
In my judgment, Father Corapi is getting the short end of the stick here.
Anyone else?
At the end of the day, the tragedy is going to be that the Catholic Church is going to lose what is by all accounts a fine, decent man and wonderful Priest. That the Church would so willingly and blindly throw this good man out knowing there's a terrible shortage of good Priests and Church Leadership just makes this worse.
The Church has known full well for years now that there are fewer men entering the Priesthood than there are leaving it. One would think they'd do their level best to keep the good ones rather than showing them the door.
I am sorry that happened to you. That is a very hurtful incident to overcome.
But I pray that the bitterness your wife planted within your heart leave you and be replaced with Jesus’ love and mercy.
I was praying recently and heard this: Don’t take the dark offenses of others and use it against yourself by holding it tight inside (resentment and bitterness). Surrender the hurt over to Jesus and let Him remove it from you. I pray you will be released from the evil that was committed against you and that you walk free, Richard.
Our priest put in an etched glass door on the Confessional.
A shame but something isd amiss. He would not be the only fine preacher who fell from grace. Saw him in San Antonio only last August.
A strange reaction, can’t think of a similar case.
The liberals will stop at nothing. It took them a couple of decades but they got Fr Corapi. God help us all.
You and I will never know what was in Ted Kennedy’s heart or in the heart of the priests who heard his confessions.
All we know are three things:
1. The priest and the man are human.
2. God is perfect, and loves us all, even though we are not perfect.
3. God sacrificed His only Son to wipe away all sins.
Ted Kennedy’s sin.
Your sin.
My sin.
All sin.
Jesus’ sacrifice was perfect. There is no sin it cannot wipe away if the sinner is contrite.
It is wrong of us to say that because so-and-so wasn’t kicked out, you don’t have to return to the Church. God didn’t say “All sin except for Ted Kennedy’s”. God is bigger than that. His sacrifice was eternal and unending. He has room for all of us.
I will pray for you to have a change of heart. The whole Church would love to welcome you back. God wants nothing more than to see you accept His Son’s perfect sacrifice.
Prayers for you!
What is that phrase: You must die to yourself and then come follow Jesus?
I never liked Corapi. He talked good, but always had a smirk on his face that disturbed me.
As for his complaints: Well, if they aren't following the strict canon law regulations, as he claims, he can appeal to the Vatican.
But this might take months or years, and I guess he thinks he's too important to the world to bother to go through a full examination.
For those of you who are upset about all this, I remind you what Paul said when some of his followers were fighting with those who followed another preacher: Are you following Paul or Jesus? Did Paul (or Corapi) die to save you from your sins?
“Ruffatto alleges that the priests accuser is a former employee who, after losing her job with this office, physically assaulted her and another employee, and promised to destroy Father Corapi.”
Mebbe I’m just iggernunt, but I didn’t see here where he said he’s leaving the priesthood. He’s suspended with an investigation to come.
BTW, did you ever find the Snowdens of yesteryear?
Fr. Euteneuer of Priests for life, are you sure you have the right name?
Never mind found it.
All I can say is WOW

Know any children? Look in their eyes and tell them they’re not worth it. If you’re so bitter that you could actually do it, then you need mental help. If you blather on like you do, then you need to stop being such a self-absorbed grandstander.
