Americans must to decide if, in the name of homeland security, they are willing to allow TSA operatives to storm public places in their communities with no warning, pat them down, and search their bags. And they better decide quickly.
Bus travelers were shocked when jackbooted TSA officers in black SWAT-style uniforms descended unannounced upon the Tampa Greyhound bus station in April with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and federal bureaucrats in tow.
A news report by ABC Action News in Tampa showed passengers being given the signature pat downs Americans are used to watching the Transportation Security Administration screeners perform at our airports. Canine teams sniffed their bags and the buses they rode. Immigration officials hunted for large sums of cash as part of an anti-smuggling initiative.
The TSA clearly intends for these out-of-nowhere swarms by its officers at community transit centers, bus stops and public events to become a routine and accepted part of American life.

LOLOL.
OK, in the case of sharks, they should definitely be groped, molested, irradiated, and stripped :0-)
:-)
Bad, bad, bad Shark. *slapping*
Now I can’t even take a bus to visit you....
Doesn't look that way to me. Unless someone or some Gubmint entity has an ulterior motive, the language is clear.
The normal status of my person, house, papers, and effects is that they are under my control and accessible only to me or someone I have given permission to access or examine.
"Unreasonable" would be any action that is counter to that normal status. In other words...keep yer stinking paws off of me and my stuff you damned dirty agent!
You see, it presupposes a certain level of civility and decorum. When a Government agency has neither of those in supply, they are working in contravention to the Constitution.
:-)
It is WAY past time.
I’ll just wear one of those blue dresses/veils, then they won’t come near me, and will treat me respectfully...
No kidding. I continue to believe that the FedGov is trying to provoke an "incident". (Sure would hate to be working for the TSA these days).
Trouble is, I don't think they are going to be able to control the follow-on like they appear to believe they can.
Lots of potential for a very ugly backlash given all that we have been witnessing these last many years.
Aren't they brown?
That’s just nuts. The whole frigging thing.
I keep hoping all this is just a bad B movie and someone will turn off the tube and it will disappear. Thanks for the ping.
Miss America’s concerns seemed very legitimate, this woman is out to lunch. Her son didn’t seemed too concerned about his mother while he was filming her. There are enough legitimate concerns without someone staging a video, like this one.
Even sadder is that the American Sheeple love it! That's why you'll never hear any prominent politician decry it and you never hear the adjustable bed salesmen on talk radio mention it. It might distract us from important things like the Caylee Anthony trial.
“The JBTs will claim that searching people taking public transportation, regardless of the fact its privately owned, is not unreasonable in the face of public safety needs.”
The issue isn’t whether they have jurisdiction. A law enforcement officer who DOES have jurisdiction cannot search anybody without a warrant or probable cause. TSA can search you at an airport not merely because it has jurisdiction but also because you waive your Fourth Amendment rights when you seek to board a commercial aircraft.
Police State Ping!
PREDICTION:
THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE END OF THE TSA.
THEY WILL BE DISMANTLED; EITHER PEACEABLY, BY LEGISLATION; OR VIOLENTLY, BY FORCE OF ARMS.
THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE END OF THE TUSA.
/not sarc :(
No, because they TELL YOU that you’ve waived your rights. Which error we need to correct INSTANTER. Otherwise these slugs will continue to exist and to think they have a RIGHT to exist and to do evil. We, the People, need to reassert our authority over fedgov and DEMAND, on pain of instant death, that fedgov disband and end ALL IT’S UNCONSTITUTIONAL ACTIVITIES.
Oops. My spell checker put in a bad apostrophe. Sorry!
