Scandal: Rather than a botched attempt to catch criminals, was the ATF program actually an attempt to advance gun-control efforts by an administration that has blamed Mexican violence on easy access to U.S. weapons?
If "Operation Fast and Furious" was merely a botched attempt at law enforcement, why was a supervisor of the operation, David Voth, "jovial, if not, not giddy but just delighted about" marked guns showing up at crime scenes in Mexico, as career Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent John Dodson told Rep. Darrell Issa's House Oversight Committee?
Perhaps because all was going as planned until it was learned that two of the AK-47s recovered at the scene of the fatal shooting of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry in December were bought in ATF's Operation Fast and Furious. That wasn't supposed to happen.
"Allowing loads of weapons that we knew to be destined for criminals this was the plan," Dodson testified to the panel. "It was so mandated."
ATF agent Olindo James Casa said that "on several occasions I personally requested to interdict or seize firearms, but I was always ordered to stand down and not to seize the firearms."
Yet, as we've noted, gun-tracking operations stopped at the border. That seems odd if the purpose was to catch gun traffickers and their drug-lord bosses. It makes sense, however, if the real purpose was to perpetuate, in the interests of pursuing the administration's gun-control agenda, what Bob Owens of Pajamas Media calls the "90% lie."

Does anyone understand how this act is the opposite of everything a free society believes in? It's like a Church sponsoring bank robbers or rapists to fill their coffers. Something is seriously wrong. It's bigger than it appears. No one starts at this level... they work up to totalitarianism slowly.
It has been slowly. Political Correctness and the media have blinded people to it. It is sadly here.
Sure it was. Hillary Clinton even said it was our guns (and gun laws) that were allowing the illegals to obtain weapons.
Keep digging Darrell, you’re on to something. I don’t care if those impeachment papers are filed the day before the election next year. Keep digging.
If all this is true, the only interest served here is the anti-gun lobby.
In the past when I’d run an ad in the paper - half the people responding would tell me they needed to work under the table because they were ‘disabled’... No wonder the country’s broke ...
For those not familiar with this story, Jon Stewart provides an amusing and reasonably complete summary. Share widely. Politicians acting like this can survive lots of things, but ridicule is not among them.

Absolutely
it is always interesting how the MSM pick up on “assault weapon” crimes just before election days.
I am sorry, but I can’t watch that idiot
Government abuses like THIS are yet another reason why all TRUE Americans must now put our 2nd Amendment FIRST!!
Is a pig’s a$$ pork? It’s time to clean house. This is number three for this bunch of buffoons. First Ruby Ridge. Then Waco. Now the circular firing squad-—Atteeeeennnnssshhhuuuun-——Port Pitchforks! On the Double! Hartch!
I agree with the sentiment, but you're really missing an enjoyable few minutes if you don't take a look because this is one of the rare moments that he's funny.
More important, this is one of the libs own absolutely ridiculing the regime which makes it twice as enjoyable. It's possible he didn't realize it was specifically the regime and just thought it was one more bureaucracy. That's a third reason to enjoy for me.
The Fast and Furious investigation can not stop with the resignation of Kenneth Melson, acting director of the ATF. We already know that other Federal agencies including DEA, ICE and Border Patrol were involved in Operation Fast and Furious. None of those agencies report to Kenneth Melson. Authorization for the involvement of those other agencies had to come from higher up. Both BATFE and DEA report to Eric Holder and since the operation crossed his agencies, he was involved. Similarly, Border Patrol and ICE report to Janet Napolitano and since the operation crossed her agencies, she was involved. Since the operation crossed departments (Homeland Security and Justice) and those departments report to Obama, he too had to have been involved — it can really be NO other way.
It is EXACTLY what he meant. That means that the president is as guilty as everyone else. The other day the acting director said that he is not resigning. To me that means he has evidence that the president was involved and he is holding out for a deal of some sort.
Not totallly, yet. But the direction is clear...
That would put Hillary in the loop as well.
