Soros and liberal groups seeking top election posts in battleground state
Washington Times ^ | June 23, 2011 | Chuck Neubauer

A small tax-exempt political group with ties to wealthy liberals like billionaire financier George Soros has quietly helped elect 11 reform-minded progressive Democrats as secretaries of state to oversee the election process in battleground states and keep Republican “political operatives from deciding who can vote and how those votes are counted.”

Known as the Secretary of State Project (SOSP), the organization was formed by liberal activists in 2006 to put Democrats in charge of state election offices, where key decisions often are made in close races on which ballots are counted and which are not.

The group’s website said it wants to stop Republicans from “manipulating” election results.

"Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything." - Josef Stalin

The libs are going for a full court press for the 2012 election. They know winning that one will put them in the drivers seat for generations.

Because the Rhinos have no backbone.

Five Rhinos in the Maine state senate voted against a bill requiring a voter to show a picture i.d. at the polling station. The bill was defeated (it had passed the state House and the governor said he would sign it).

I would say that winning that one will ensure the complete destruction of this Nation within this generation.

There is something seriously wrong with this sentence.

Well, it’s more than just the RINOs. Some of the blame should be shared by such an ignorant populace: A lot of Americans know more about American Idol than they do about who is running for office, and a surprising number of them don’t even think SOS is an “important” office. Just easier to vote for a name they’ve seen somewhere. I do fear for our country.

“Supporting secretary of state candidates with integrity [sic] is one of the most cost-efficient ways progressives can ensure they have a fair chance of winning elections,” SOSP said on its website, adding that “a relatively small influx of money — often as little as $30,000 to $50,000 — can change the outcome of a race.”

While most of the rest of us let out a big yawn to the "down ballot" races for state offices, the libs are organized to capture them - and that could have disastrous consequences. Of course when this organization says "with integrity" they mean those that will not strictly enforce election laws.

Correct. Cheating won't help their effort if it isn't close. The blame for the failure of our culture rest squarely on the shoulders of the ignorant voters.

Well, look on the bright side,

Some of those states have Republican governors with vast election machines. And the list does not inlude Florida or Virginia.

Well...while the topic is being discussed:

Bill Johnson for Secretary of State

This general election will be this year - November 2011. I'm sure the Soros backed SOS projection will not be supporting him.

It is war! Our opponets are willing to infiltrate into positions that will enable them to thwart the electorate. It ought to cause you a great deal of worry! Look at one of these POS SOSs did in Wisconsin!

Well, he didn’t have to try this in WI Our left wing Government Accountibility Board and current left wing Secretary of State are already in his pocket. I certainly hope that our new Republican governor replaces some people ooon the GAB and that we can change the SOS at the next election.

Why is this allowed??

Because good people do nothing. The left are always active in their pursuits of doing evil.
