Rick Perry is having a good month. With all eyes on his possible bid for the Republican presidential nomination, the Texas governor is showing that his anti-Washington rhetoric is more than just talk. By vetoing feel-good, nanny-state regulations and thwarting of federal intervention in his state, he's demonstrating the kind of leadership America needs.
Beginning in January, Department of Energy bureaucrats will use regulations to strip incandescent lightbulbs from store shelves so that they will be replaced with expensive, inferior and toxic substitutes. This will happen everywhere in the country - except the Lone Star State, thanks to Mr. Perry's June 17 signature on the Light Bulb Freedom of Choice Act. This law invokes the 10th Amendment right for Texas to regulate its intrastate commerce. Incandescent bulbs that bear the stamp "Made in Texas" and do not cross state lines will escape the federal grasp.

lol
I hope every light bulb manufacturer in the country moves to Texas!
Obama’s light is on, but nobody’s home.
The Washington Times is just a liberal rag!

GO RICK!!
I understand your sentiment, but I believe it's too late; all the light bulb manufacturers have moved off shore.
They could reestablish factories in Texas just for intrastate consumption, I suppose. Do you think that's a big enough market to justify a separate factory? I guess we'll see, won't we?
That reminds me, I need to buy some more bulbs to increase my stockpile.
Perry’s a Rino...hardly what one could call a conservative.
I HATE these new bulbs, it takes seconds for them to even come on and then if you have a dimmer, good luck, they only work at the top setting. We are in the 21st century and going backward!
Oh come on!!! There is NO PERFECT person.....do you really think anyone else could WIN....REALLY????
The anti-groping bill hasn’t passed yet. The rino Strauss may hold it up:
The fate of the anti-groping bill became even more uncertain after House Speaker Joe Straus, R-San Antonio, said the proposal by Rep. David Simpson, R-Longview, was “a publicity stunt” that, if the Legislature approved as written, would turn Texas “into a laughingstock.”

Of course I think someone else could win..and yes Really.
But a Rhino Perry is not the one to do that...he’s just another Romney is sheeps clothing.
Sorry. Strauss should be Straus and I see the page is no longer available.
Nice little bit of grandstanding by Perry, but I am sure he’s heard of Wickard v Fillburn, or more recently, Raich v Gonzalez. But it gets his sentiment out, and builds him some support, even if it is futile.
Here’s the page. (sorry again):

...thanks to Mr. Perry's June 17 signature on the Light Bulb Freedom of Choice Act.Gays will be particularly happy about this.
Look, Perry may be better than 0bamao, but not in principal.
Perry, by executive order, required the inoculation against STDs in school girls as young as 12 yease old.
That makes him a totalitarian statist.
I will not support him in the primary, and would have to hold my nose to vote for him in the general election.
> Look, Perry may be better than 0bamao, but not in principal.
I meant, principle.
I have determined I will not be holding my nose and vote in this election or any other as I did for McBain. Never again. And that includes this election.
