ABC News Sheila Marikar (@SheilaYM) reports:
While a cinematic love letter to Sarah Palin is set to debut in Iowa Tuesday night, a more critical film about the former Alaska governor is in the works.
British filmmaker Nick Broomfield is shopping a documentary that examines Palin's life and rise to prominence through interviews with her parents, friends, colleagues such as ex-legislative director John Bitney, ex-Senate president Lyda Green, ex brother-in-law Mike Wooten and many more.
In a preview clip from the film, Bitney and Green bemoan Palins habit of using her Blackberry during meetings.
It was frustrating at times to set up a meeting with legislative leadership to talk about a piece of legislation or a bill or an issue or something that needed to be worked out, and the whole time, she would be doing this, Bitney says, motioning his thumbs as if using a Blackberry. He adds that Palin was just very unengaged in the conversation and often, she wasnt listening.
Green echoes his sentiments.
I never felt that Sarah was ever connected to the business in the building, going around the Capitol, she says. She generally had her two Blackberries and was texting most of the time.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the as yet untitled film is screening for buyers this week in Los Angeles and may premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
Stephen K. Bannons The Undefeated, which premieres in Iowa Tuesday and rolls out nationwide July 15, also chronicles Palins life and political rise through interviews with those close to her, but takes a staunchly pro-Palin stance.
Broomfield is known for documentaries that offer unconventional takes on famous subjects, including 1998's Kurt & Courtney, which asked if Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain's 1994 suicide was really a murder.
LOL.......and after 27 years in the business world, I can tell you with authority that women are much, MUCH better at this than men. Must be a genetic thing. :)
Here, let me give it a shot:
"The Unglued"
A friend of mine, a West Point Army O-6, worked for Petraeus for a few months in Afghanistan.
Supposedly, Petraeus will sit in a Humvee with two laptops (satellite connections) one or two secure smartphones, working on all of the devices, all while conducting a meeting among his staff.
My friend said that the only way to conduct yourself is to imagine that he is looking straight into your eyes and nothing else exists. No laptop, no phone, nothing.
Otherwise, he will pounce on you like a tiger and transfer you out if it happens a second time.
“The Unglued”
That’s tho keyboards today dangit! ;)
Multi-tasking skills....I went to school full time, worked full time (and was continually promoted)....was raising a son (divorced) .... most of those around me had no idea.... I KNOW how it works....
My impression from the book, if he’s who I think he is, is that she had much the same impression of him.
We haven’t seen one because to be an executive that people complain about, you have to be an executive...:)
Keep it up, Wankers.
Their PDS will only help elect her. I know a number of people that were politically indifferent. After all the attacks, they are now very engaged in the political process and Palin supporters.
I imagine many Freepers have a similar story.
Oh, OK, so the MSM doesn’t have a problem with a movie about Sarah, just about one that presents her in a positive light.
ABC News Sheila Marikar (@SheilaYM) reports:
They still consider Sarah political enemy #1.
Because she is a real threat to the one world governance system the Germans have in mind for us.
Hah!!! LOVE it!
Oh yeah, Petraeus is brilliant. A massive intelligence with an ego and ambition to match.
Too bad those qualities aren’t matched by his judgment, wisdom, a genuine concern for those under his command, and the courage to confront and challenge his political masters who are diabolically squandering the lives of his troops in deliberately designed-to-fail strategies.
Of course, he’s no different in those respects than most of the rest of our top-level command officers. He’s just smarter and better at the game than most. At a certain level their ambitions and careers begin to trump everything else, and those careers are built using the blood of those under their command who trusted them and relied on them for leadership.
Troop morale in our various combat theaters is plummeting because those who’ve been doing the dying and getting maimed are starting to realize they’ve been betrayed again, just like in Vietnam.
When a constitutional republic based on founding principles such as ours reaches the point where the majority of its military leaders cynically demand those under their command be willing to give their lives for their country, while they themselves are unwilling to merely even risk their careers, much less their lives, then that nation is doomed.
Oh, boy! This one is going to win every award Hollywood usually gives to itself.
The Army makes Colonels, the politicians make Generals.
I was just commenting on the ability of some very smart people to multi-task.
Palin/Ryan 2012
(Although, I am going to vote a straight Republican ticket, no matter who the nominees are)
I appreciate the indulgence. I wasn’t directing my ire at you - just venting. I had to participate in the funeral a short while back of a fine young man from my church.
He died in Kandahar directly as a result of the murderously insane, morally repugnant and absolutely futile Rules of Engagement imposed by Petraeus. They were put in an untenable position and not allowed to defend themselves.
Very smart people are capable of doing much more harm than others when their judgment and character don’t match their abilities.
re: >>The Army makes Colonels, the politicians make Generals.
True, and the next step in the progression is the Generals start making the politicians. I wonder if we’re ready for a Praetorian future. That time is not yet, but there’s always a Sulla available to start things off when conditions are ripe... /g
That is my point.
Reagan got the same criticism.
"Some" would say it is rudeness...
