I must apologize for saying that the person I replied to called other FReepers idiots. That was a false allegation. Everything else stands.

Nice, if the shoes look pretty cool I’m getting them. I don’t know where y’all get the whole ‘animals have rights thing but I don’t even pretend that he did any wrong. No ones rights were violated.

If evil, sociopath, scum, like Vick are allowed sought out to endorse products that little kids will use.

Then I think Mafia Hit Men should be able to endorse Firearms!

'Hi folks. My name's Vinny and I've worked for the Bada-Bing Crime Family for 35 years and I have Twenty Verifiable Hits to my credit. And when I'm out to whack someone there's nothing I'd rather use than a Mossberg 500. So get one today at your local sporting goods store. Tell 'em: "Vinny Sent You".'
Wonder how that would go over?

There is the view that exists today that because one has 'done his time', we are suppose to forget what he has done the moment he leaves prison.

No one has to forget what he has done, but he has served his time, and if the Philadelphia Eagles wish to employ him that's their business. The is no law preventing them from hiring an ex-con. If you don't it, you can protest, boycott, whatever. Same goes for Nike.

What seems to be forgotten here is the history of this prosecution. First, why did the feds prosecute? There is absolutely nothing in the Constitution that makes dog fighting a federal crime. This was a prosecution of political correctness (now if the state had made this criminal and prosecuted, while the law would have been inspired by PETA/political correctness, at least the law would be valid and if Vick didn't like the law he could take his operations to another state). Second, this was a racial prosecution. When added to political correctness, Vick was the perfect target, black and an athlete. Many states have allowed dog fighting up until the last several years, it is a part of some cultures (and I don't mean just black, but socio-economic). Had Vick been a white or asian non-athlete we'd have never heard of this case.

The federal prosecution of Vick should be a major concern for all. The PETA inspired political correctness forming the basis of this prosecution should be of equal concern.

Even more fundamentally, the venom and hate directed towards Vick is thousands of percent more than that directed toward those that slaughter HUMANS. A fact that says more about the future of this country than anything else

Here’s their email. Tell them what you think. I told them they are now officially the brand who tortures, maims and kills innocent dogs and hope their company goes down in flames.

2 Timothy 3:1-9 1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.

Me too.

I want nothing to do with a sick SOB who tortures dogs for sport and pleasure. Vick is a ghetto thug POS.

If Nike supports that, well, they can go pound sand.

I am president of our local humane society and am horrified at what evil is done to this breed. Michael Vick would still be fighting dogs if he hadn’t been caught, he is still Michael Vick.

How much time would you say that is? Is it 3 years? 5 years? 25 years after someone gets out before they are allowed to do anything?
