....There has never been in my lifetime, since we got rid of the poll tax and all the Jim Crow burdens on voting, the determined effort to limit the franchise that we see today, Clinton added.
Clinton mentioned Florida Gov. Rick Scotts move in March to overturn past state precedent including under former GOP governors that allows convicted felons to vote once theyve served theyve finished probation periods.

Franchise. What a fitting word. That’s what it’s all about to them - staying in business.
Seems like a good way to carry the attack to the Dems. Most states already forbid felons from voting, the Supreme Court is fine with it, and the public supports the policy by a wide margin (even Democrats.) Imagine if this were in place in the 2000 election.
Dearest Bill,
No one is born a felon. Felon is neither a race or a skin color.
Sincerely,
OSHA

Should a citizen get their right to vote back after they have finished their debt to society?
Bill loves to lie.
I don’t know about Scott, but I can tell you Bush pushed programs to make felons aware of their right to vote. I’m never big on pushing people to vote. I was actually pretty ticked about it.
I figure, if you are educating yourself enough to vote, and it’s important to you, you can do that stuff yourself. It ticks me when Dems in FL bus in carloads of people telling them, “Fill in the 2nd hole”. (That’s what caused all those votes for Buchanan in 2000). They didn’t even know who they were voting for.
The RATS are getting desperate when they have to go after the Felon Vote.
Someone please tell me why it is that liberals assume that minorities don’t carry identification. That’s kind of racist isn’t it?
Bill Clinton is such an ass.
No mention that an ex-con no longer under probation, may easily appear before a judge to have their rights restored, and many do—specifically, to have their right to have a *gun* restored. Having their voting rights restored as well, is generally a big “meh, whatever” to them.
With the exception of those felons who were the *reason* felons were disenfranchised in the first place — those who were committing criminal acts with the intent to corrupt elections.
Something that Bill Clinton knows all about.
Specifically, back in the days of Bills mentor, Arkansas governor Orval Faubus, the man who famously called out the Arkansas National Guard to prevent the integration of the Little Rock schools, until Republican president Eisenhower sent in the 101st Airborne Division to change their minds.
Faubus was rotten to the core, and Bill was a good student. So if Bill wants ex-cons to get the vote, it is for very dirty reasons.
Yay Gov. Scott! You know you’re doing everything right when Slick Willy complains about you.
Hey Bill, what Gov. Scott is doing is the antithesis of Motor Voter. I guess you don’t like it when our side employs your tactics.
As was mentioned elsewhere here, I would support both re-franchising and restoring an ex-felon's firearms rights. At the same time, I would make sure sentencing is stricter. If a person is free enough to be on the street, he should be free enough to have his rights back. Otherwise, keep him locked up.
FL also shortened the “early voting” period down to one week from two weeks prior to the election. The Left are not pleased. They lost 50% of the available time to commit fraud.
charlie crist, a republican, recently had felon rights automatically restored. our awesome new governor has returned things as they belong.
The Democrat Party: the party of death and taxes...and now felons!
Our Legislature, the representatives of the people decided “no,” and the Gov agreed. I agree with them.
Given the opportunity, I would further limit the franchise.
If they crawl on their bellies like a Reptile. They are Reptiles.
Let’s see, I expect zerobama to grant a full pardon to all inmates in order to get their votes.

without the felon vote, where would the ‘rats be?
Studies show the vast majority of felons would vote dem. Were that study to show the majority ready to vote Republican do you think Bill the prevert would be complaining?
Heck NO.
