"The tax burden on small business owners has never been higher. And Obama threatens to make it far higher- perhaps an unimaginable ten times higher ... "and thus his insistence that tax hikes be part of any debt ceiling compromise is totally cynical if not vicious.

Make it easier for businesses to operate, and there will be new jobs, and more taxpayers. That’s the only way to generate more tax revenue that is good for the country.
YEP....Wayne Allyn Root has said that about Obama nad his alma Mater....I think we have the first SCAM of a Presidency...

Don’t believe Obama ever. Just imagine Obama mating with Casey Anthony. What a liar.
First: The Social Security and Medicare withholdings ARE NOT TAXES. Conservatives need to stop calling them taxes, because when we do, the liberals say, "See, poor people do pay taxes."
NO.
They don't.
The Social Security withholding is a contribution to a national public pension plan. The promise is that it will be returned. That's NOT a tax, any more than your 401(K) or IRA is a tax.
Same thing with Medicare. That's also not a tax. It's a contribution to a national health care program for Seniors, and again, at a certain age, the promise is that it comes back to you. It's a public insurance plan, and it's NOT A TAX.
Second: The enormous tax burden is bad, but it actually pales in comparison to the regulatory and litigation burden on businesses. Corporations and S-Chapter single payer filers are not sitting on top of a ton of cash because of a fear of taxes. They're doing so because of a fear of regulation. No one knows how much 0bamacare is actually going to cost. No one.
It has never in history been harder to start a new business. It has never in history been harder to hire a new person. It has never in history been harder to stay in business once in business because of regulation and the fear of wealth destroying litigation.
In addition to demanding $1 in cuts for every $1 increase in the debt ceiling, we should also be demanding removing 1 page of the Federal Register for every $1 billion in debt increase. The Regulatory state has now grown unabated for more than 25 years. That -- even more than spending -- has GOT to stop.
It's like getting in bed with the devil. You're gonna get burned.
Thank you. Good points, all.
It occurs to me that Casey Anthony or, OJ Simpson could be president today if the media was in it.
With the budget cave-in about to occur my guess is Palin is about to announce a third party candidacy.
But even for the poor working stiff, I think your analysis is mistaken: an employee pays 100% of SS and MC taxes whether he wants to believe it or not. He also pays 100% of his "paid" vacation, 100% of his "paid" leave, 100% of his "employer" contribution to health care ... and so on and so on.
The truth is that an employer fully accounts for every penny of an employee's expenses, and that includes all contribution supposedly made on his behalf; that's the meaning of "fully loaded" wages and benefits, and that's how an employer budgets you (I know this because I've been on that side of the equation, too.) Believe me, no employer budgets employees on the basis of gross wages. That's one of the reasons idiots continue to back Social Security: they think they're getting one over on the boss by "forcing" him to pay 7%+. They aren't. They're paying it.
It doesn’t matter what they say if they spend money they must repay it with tax dollars. Every increase in spending is a fundamental increase in tax. Anyone who does not understand this should be ineligible to vote. Those who understand but think increased spending is a good thing should likely be investigated for sedition.
Words mean things and we communicate only when we speak the same language using the same definitions. Here is a standard definition of the word "tax" (from here):
tax (tks) n.

1. A contribution for the support of a government required of persons, groups, or businesses within the domain of that government.
2. A fee or dues levied on the members of an organization to meet its expenses.
3. A burdensome or excessive demand; a strain.

Voluntary withholding for an IRA, car payment, or some charity doesn't go to the federal treasury.
Medicare and Social Security payments are taxes taken by force and used to cover mandatory government spending. Also, most people know by now that the intent of both is revenue, that the idea has been to collect more than enough money with the excess used for general spending by way of "intergovernmental holdings" (that now top $5T). In a few years when the population ages and the excess disappears, these programs will be cancelled, benefits will end, and Democrats will blame Republicans.
The unemployed poor don't have to pay those taxes.
NO.
They don't.

When is a tax not a tax? When it's a government-mandated "contribution" of the first 15% of your earnings to a government monopoly "savings plan" Ponzi scheme.Social Security takes money when you are working, and pays back "more" than you paid in - in devalued dollars after the government has done its inflationary dirty work over the years. But I guess it's not a tax as long as the government pays back something . . .
PR only cares about emotion rather than facts and reality. Anyone who stands for facts and reality will be the natural target of the PR industry. Journalism, and its dependencies, especially the Democrat Party are the PR industry.
The problem is that while humans run into facts and reality all the time, they only act on emotion.
Smart people succeed by controlling emotions and making them conform to reality while the press sells its product to the majority that want to blame their mistakes on the successful minority. It's OK though, we still have lots of power even if we get yelled at a lot. Also I consider the fact that humankind as a whole can still raise forth an ever advancing civilization to be proof that a loving Creator is always there...
