Imagine a bargain hunter's shock and dismay when responding to an ad on Craigslist listing a bunch of possessions for sale and then receiving an email announcing that gay people, Muslims, and illegal immigrants aren't allowed to purchase the wares. Read it for yourself.
Our tipster, who lives in the D.C. area, responded to an ad on Craigslist, which has been taken down, expressing interest in one of the items for sale. He received this mass email response peppered with casual racism and homophobia. I've highlighted the worst parts, but the whole thing is really amazingly awful.
"i have been a bit overwhelmed by the response, so have devised an easier way to disseminate information and pix of the items for sale for all of you who have contacted me. i've set up a publicly accessible facebook photo album for items for sale. please post any questions you have on the facebook page, this way you will also know if someone else has already expressed interest in an item and at what price or if the item is sold, as i will mark it so.
additionally, there will be a garage sale this sunday, 17 july 2011 from 11am - 7pm, for the items already pictured in the album and more. photos will continue to be added via the mobile pix facebook album, so please also check there as internet access has already been disconnected in the home and it's the only way to upload quickly and easily. all are welcome to the moving sale / garage sale except for LGBT people, illegal immigrants, and muslims, anyone else is warmly welcomed! no drama, terrorism, or illegal transactions with non-US citizens / illegal immigrants / people taking jobs away from people who belong and are legal in this country is desired.

I spotted that, too. Sounds like some elitist doing his/her best impersonation of a Neanderthal.
You may be onto something there. Good catch.
so what’s the problem?
Years ago, my Dad had a yard sale and three Chinese guys stole items from him. I don’t know their status, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were illegal, and from Philly.
Sounds like this guy set out to yank some politically correct chains.
Every charge begins with just one man stepping forward...
Also the use of the term “illegal immigrants” is suspicious. If I had to guess, someone is trying to pursue a vendetta against someone else and the whole garage sale thing is a farce. The PC robot trying to pull this off however just can’t stray from it’s programmed terminology.
This, somehow, doesn’t pass the smell test. I’m detecting fake CL posting and fake FB account. Just sayin’. I Of course, that’s what they’re all about.
Theres something weird about this. A racist/bigot wouldnt use the PC term LGBT.

Exactly. I smell a troll, here.
Look no further than San Francisco mandating that Income Property Owners not “discriminate” against renting to Ex Cons. Of course the first time one of those Ex Cons attacks the neighbor, who do think will end up getting sued?
The important question is did they have any good STUFF?
What racism? I suppose this dick head means the illegal immigrant part, that isn’t racism, also muslim isn’t a race it is a religion, so therefore this ad contains no racist remarks. As for homophobia, this implies people are scared of queers, when the truth is heterosexuals, for the most part, are simply disgusted with them, no fear involved. I see no reason this person shouldn’t be able to see his stuff to whom ever he pleases, being a private citizen selling used items at a yard sale he has the right.
You've got that right. Most people, except for the left, use the term illegal aliens.
Yep, caught my eye too. I smell an op.
There was a “hate crime” in Redmond, Washington a few weeks ago. Seems someone left a post-it note on a muslim woman’s car when she went in with her young daughter to the store.
The note in english had something like:
“Muslims get out the U.S.” (something like this, and awkard and poor lettering) And below it was the arabic language written very nicely and with proper grammar.
Of course I showed it to my kids and they could answer correctly “Does this look like it is written by an old white guy, or by someone from another country?” The news never reported it like that though.
I wonder what little liberal made this ad up?
Claremont Hate Crime Called Hoax
LA Times (FR thread) | March 17. 2004 | Joy Buchanan, Kristina Sauerwein and Stuart Silverstein
A week after a reported campus hate crime drew national attention, sparked protests and shut down the prestigious Claremont Colleges, police on Wednesday called the incident a hoax staged by a professor who slashed tires, shattered windows and spray-painted racist graffiti on her own car.
Claremont McKenna College psychology professor Kerri Dunn, who had told police that her car was vandalized as she spoke at a March 9 forum on racism, was identified by two eyewitnesses as the person who damaged the auto, authorities said Wednesday.
Professor Kerri Dunn vandalized her own car and then led "Stop The Hate" rallies on campus.
