Strong opening weekend fuels film’s expansion to Tucson, AZ, West Palm, FL, Milwaukee, WI, Charlotte, NC, and Ontario, CA

Additional theatres added in Phoenix, AZ and Atlanta, GA

$11,000-plus per screen weekend averages in Orange County and Phoenix

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Santa Monica, Calif. (July 18, 2011) ⎯ ARC Entertainment today announced "The Undefeated," which chronicles Sarah Palin’s rise from obscurity to national prominence, will roll out to additional AMC Theatres (AMC) beginning on Friday, July 22nd.

With sold-out runs and enthusiastic audience support on opening weekend, the film will roll out to new markets including Tucson, AZ; West Palm, FL; Milwaukee, WI; Charlotte, NC; and Ontario, CA. The film will also expand into additional theatres in Atlanta, GA, and Phoenix, AZ, and will continue in theatres in Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Denver, CO; Orlando, FL; and Orange, CA.

ARC Entertainment, the distributor of the film, announced today that the film had a stronger opening weekend than expected with the top markets, Phoenix and Orange County, achieving weekend per screen averages above $11,000 driven by multiple sold-out runs. The film was rushed to select digital theatres in only three weeks, and was marketed entirely through social media and grass roots efforts with virtually no traditional media spend.

“Given the audience response on our opening weekend we now know we have a film that works. Our objective is very simple⎯  to bring this film to every market and every corner of the country; starting with a limited theatrical release and then through an aggressive broader distribution strategy including streaming video, on-demand access and DVD,” stated filmmaker Stephen K. Bannon.

Trevor Drinkwater, CEO of ARC Entertainment, said, “We have been inundated with requests from around the country to have the film play in their market. Our expansion plan is being methodically analyzed and managed to allow the film to be viewed by the widest audience in the most effective manner.”

This coming Friday the film will play in the following AMC theatres:

Ahwatukee 24 4915 East Ray Road Phoenix, AZ  85044
Arizona Center 24 565 N. 3rd Street Phoenix, AZ  85004

“We are thrilled that The Undefeated can benefit from the digital cinema platform to quickly expand to additional markets this weekend,” said Jonathan Dern, president of Cinedigm Entertainment Group.

Written and directed by Stephen K. Bannon and produced by Victory Film Group co-founder Glenn Bracken Evans and Dan Fleuette, “The Undefeated” was independently financed by Victory Film Group and its partners.

The film includes leading prominent political commentators Mark Levin, Tammy Bruce and Andrew Breitbart as well as conservative activists Kate Obenshain, Sonnie Johnson and Jamie Radtke. Additionally, the film features interviews with Alaskan civil servants, elected officials and advisors who were involved in Alaskan politics during Governor Palin’s tenure.

“After the incredible feedback we got from enthusiastic audiences, we are very excited to bring this story of a true American hero to additional audiences across America,” said Glenn Bracken Evans.

- RATE the film, by scrolling your mouse on the stars under the title, and click on the rate you wish (a "10" would be a good idea);

Sure... if they'd show it here in VA.

I just registered to post on IMDB -- a minor nuisance, but WORTH it!

And, I will post here the RESULTS of my FReeping there -- soon...

O.K.

I just rated the film -- TEN STARS!

Then, I posted MY review.

And, finally, I went through the current reviews...

...and clicked "helpful" for the GOOD ones, and "not helpful" for the BAD ones.
Here is where we stand right now:
Users: 1.5/10 (247 votes) 33 reviews | Critics: 16 reviews Metascore: 34/100 (based on 7 reviews from Metacritic.com)
It apparently may take 24 hours for the results of my FReeping to appear.

This is all about promoting the video. Dozens of theaters at $5000 per day is nothing compared to when this hits Amazon on DVD for $20. (Not to mention $100 per copy to donors to the PAC, probably about the time she announces).

I’ll predict that Palin is brilliantly creating a desirable, high-value donation premium.

And one more thing. From every sale her organization makes of the video, she gets a NAME for her potential donor mailing list.

Talk about proving a major point of the movie.

The mush brained leftist mob, just as the muslims, responded with vitriol thinking that we will be intimidated.

Too stupid to realize that their reaction merely adds steel to our resolve and commitment to take back our country.

The day will come when their continued provocation will call up whirlwinds that will sweep them away.

Thing is most of our people don’t vote on web polls about films unless we’ve seen them. Not so for the left. So these numbers are useless.

The formula is simple. Obviously, the doc needs to be in more theaters. If a Palin supporter invites at least one person they know who tends to believe the media meme about Palin, her high unfavorables will diminish significantly.

For those who are not in a market where it will be seen, the DVD will be bought by supporters and those supporters can have viewing parties with a number of non-supporters invited to attend.

Unconventional campaign? You betcha!

I forgot to add that comments on any political films that weren't pro left used to be routinely scrubbed from that site, especially the ones that made the most sense. Got so bad that I stopped posting any there for a while. Some posters at the IMDB had BDS ( Bush Derangement Syndrome ) so bad they even started posting anti President Bush comments on films that had absolutely no political connections.

In Houston, they’re moving the film 30 miles from a blue area of town out to a heavily Republican area with a good mix of Tea Party types and country clubbers.

I love this phased rollout strategy that builds interest in lieu of big $ advertising. Bannon and his partners are no dummies. I hope they get very rich from this.

Debut of Sarah Palin doc ‘The Undefeated’ delayed a week in valley

http://www.mydesert.com/article/20110719/NEWS0301/107190306/Debut-Sarah-Palin-doc-Undefeated-delayed-week-valley

Coachella Valley residents hoping to catch the documentary on former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will have to wait.

Film distributors on Monday notified Cinemas Palme d’Or that they’d open “The Undefeated” this coming weekend — only to decide hours later that the local premiere would be pushed back a week.

The local debut will now be held during the July 29 weekend in Palm Desert, a Republican- dominated city that counts Palin’s own in-laws as part-time residents.

“We were anxious for the opportunity to play something completely different than what we usually do,” Cinémas Palme d’Or co-owner Brian Tabor said.

This is only a question because I’m unfamiliar with Alabama politics; if Alabama was so supportive of the McPalin ticket, why have there only been three republican governors since the 1870s?

I understand.

But IMDB just posted MY (very positive) review:

0 out of 3 people found the following review useful:
Discover the REAL Sarah Palin!, 19 July 2011
10/10
Author: RonDog from United States

Wow. I just got to see this amazing movie in Orange, CA last Friday.

While I consider myself to be fairly well-informed, and thought that I already knew quite a bit about Governor Palin, this extraordinary movie helped me to discover the REAL "Sarah Palin" -- someone with a depth of character, and a level of personal commitment to the citizens of Alaska that even I had never seen before.

Forget the "cartoon" version of Sarah Palin being promoted by so many in the media.

This powerfully effective movie shows a woman who is certainly NOT the "Caribou Barbie" -- who "does not read newspapers" and "can see Russia from her house" -- that they WISH she was.

Invest two hours of your life with this fast-paced, uplifting documentary, and discover FOR YOURSELF why so many people love this woman!.

Great minds think alike! I just registered to post on IMDB -- a minor nuisance, but WORTH it! And, I will post here the RESULTS of my FReeping there -- soon...

I should mention that based on my observations, a "9" vote will move the average up more than a "10" vote. This is because of the algorithm imdb uses to figure its "weighted average." It is supposed to discourage just what the libs are now doing -- stuffing the ballot box with "1's." If I am right, then once a substantial number of votes are tallied, the "1's" and the "10's" will be weighted less -- and a "9" will carry more weight.

It appears that you are correct!

From www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?ratingsexplanation:

Weighted Average Ratings

IMDb publishes weighted vote averages rather than raw data averages.

Various filters are applied to the raw data in order to eliminate and reduce attempts at 'vote stuffing' by individuals more interested in changing the current rating of a movie than giving their true opinion of it.

The exact methods we use will not be disclosed. This should ensure that the policy remains effective. The result is a more accurate vote average.

I wonder if I can go back, and CHANGE my rating to a 9...
