I would say that the driver, and now much of the nation, is receiving an education. It may not be what the Canton PD wanted, but it is an education.

U.S. Code has a providion for the prosecution (I believe this would not just be a civil law suit) of an individual who, in their official capacity denies another person his/her civil rights. Book ‘em, Danno!

What’s really astounding to me is that the crazed cop had to know the camera was running. The guy’s way beyond getting any help from an anger management class.

Canton releases these impulse control-challenged anger management class rejects on the public—armed?

Maybe they shouldn’t be armed.

They don’t let corrections officers carry guns because they may be taken from them, so why should Polizei be any different?

If the anti-gun hoplophobes want to get ‘guns off the street’ maybe they should start with the COPS?

"He [the offier]was reprimanded in one 2003 case. Harless and another officer were exonerated of using excessive force, but were given a letter of reprimand for not activating the in-car video camera at the scene per department policy.

So, this slimeball police officer has used violence against citizens before. It was just never recorded.

A criminal usually gets caught only once in seven criminal acts. A crooked cop gets caught far, far less frequently.

I liked the response from the Canton Police Chief. It sounds like he’s taking the right steps and has a better attitude than his employees. I’ll have to wait and see what the result is, though. The cop isn’t suited for the police force. He should be removed from the force, but I bet they have a union contract that won’t allow that.

After watching the entire video, I do not doubt this officer's assertion that he would “not lose any sleep” after murdering a citizen. He is quite clearly some kind of psychopath.

[No, I am not a psychiatrist, but I don't need to be one in order to be able to tell that this cop is a violent nut-case]

If the Canton Police Department decides to ‘circle the wagons’ to protect this piece of crap then every official who has anything to do with the case needs to lose his/her job.

The middle 5 or 6 minutes of the video should, by itself, be enough for this cop to find himself immediately unemployed, if not in the city jail.

That cop should never have been one period.

He should be fired immediately. (He has severe anger control issues)

Haven’t watched the entire video, just a couple of minutes and read the synopsis at “The Blaze.”

The cop sounds like he’s experiencing “roid rage” from abuse of illegal steroids.

Just had a case on Memorial Day of an out of control sheriff’s deputy from another jurisdiction who drove his patrol car to Roanoke, VA while off duty and shot his ex-wife with his AR-15 in her vehicle with their 12 year old daughter in her vehicle in broad daylight at a Sheetz.

Have heard through the grapevine that he’s blaming it on “roid rage.”

The cops statement of, “I should have stepped back and pulled my 40 caliber Glock out and shot you 10 times” could provoke an officer shooting. If people think that they’re going to be killed for carrying a weapon, it’s not totally unreasonable to think that someone might decide to shoot first.

I’m wondering a few things which - due to crappy journalism - I haven’t seen anywhere yet.

1) When did he get suspended? When it happened, or when it got publicity?

2) Did his partner report him for this? If so, when? If not, why is he not suspended at well?

3) What is the cop’s record?

4) How did his supervisors not know he was this way?

I would seriously check to see if there are any unsolved murders or missing persons reports that may have been filed in the last few years during this guys shift in his patrol area.
