Driver was unaware of new passenger after 'non-injury collision with a twist'
A Southern California motorcyclist rear-ended a minivan and was thrown through a window into the back seat but escaped unscathed, police said.
After the incident on Thursday, the driver of the minivan continued driving and pulled into his own driveway nearby, unaware that he had a new backseat passenger, the Victorville Daily Press reported.
"We're calling this one a non-injury collision with a twist," Karen Hunt, spokeswoman for the Victorville Police Department, told the newspaper. Victorville is a town of 115,000 people on the southwestern edge of the Mojave Desert.
The incident occurred when the motorcyclist failed to stop in time as the minivan slowed to make a turn, the newspaper reported. The motorcycle then crashed into the van, with the rider hurling through the minivan’s rear window and the motorcycle itself skidding beneath the larger vehicle.
The minivan driver then turned into his driveway, less than half a block away, and was preparing to return to the scene when he realized the stunned motorcyclist was in his backseat, the paper reported.
No charges were filed in the case and neither man required medical attention, Hunt told the Daily Press.
"The helmet sustained most of the impact," Hunt told the paper.

I've disrespected minivan drivers before, but never so eloquently.
I wonder if the cyclist is an advocate of the “no helmet” movement? He’s a lucky SOB.........
A deer entered my car through the windshield and I was well aware before the actual entry occurred. The wind noise after was noticeable.

I came across an SUV which had a deer go thru the windshield and end up in the rear baby seat.
“No ma’am, the deer isn’t going to make it.”
“Why?”
“The other half is somewhere down the street.”
I thought that Jackass guy was dead.
We had a hideous case here in GA where a lady was killed when a deer came through her windshield and an antler impaled her head and killed her. The car veered off the highway and down a firebreak road several hundred yards from the main road and wasn’t discovered for quite some time.
Seems like them FR Hooligans were at it again...
Looks like he did survive, since he’s standing there with blood on his forehead. But getting hit by Bambi is never a good thing!
And, how about the fact that the uninjured motorcyclist didn't say anything to the driver? Something like, "Hi, my name's Norman. Could you drive me back so I can find where I left my ride? Oh, and sorry about the window."
I have been passed by motorcycles going extremely fast on the interstates. I wonder how far they would go into a minivan at those speeds. I shudder just thinking about it.
The driver should have been arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.

The guy was definitely accelerating compared to the other riders, did his throttle hang up or what?
1.) Rust bucket, and the additional wind wasn't noticeable.
2.) Illegally wearing headphones while driving. (Must have been the Bose noise cancellation ones).
3.) Car's sound system can rival the Saturn V at takeoff.
4.) Mexican in the country illegally, and thought it was a fellow illegal hitching a ride.

Yeah, I don't get why he didn't stop immediately. Weird story.
Most plausible to me would be:
5) Driver was stone deaf. Didn’t hear the bike roaring up, perhaps obscured from his view by an intervening vehicle that scooted out of the way at the last moment. (I hate those “surprised by a stopped car” accidents. I know. It happened once to me. Fortunately nobody was hurt.)
However, most deaf drivers are better than normal observers of sight and vibration. Could be the driver coolly assessed what had happened and brought the car home where getting assistance would be easier.

True. Guess I should keep the windows rolled up in MY minivan, so no one vomits in my back seat.
