World Net Daily officially 7th Day Adventist?
July 24, 2011 | Self

I just received an email from World Net Daily advertising some books. Not unusual, as I'm on their list, and they send ads all the time. What is strange though, is the fact that all the books in this ad are religious AND take the oddball "7th-day Sabbath" position--definitely a very minority position among conservative evangelicals, and Christians of all stripes.

The ad also hints at some dark conspiracy amidst conventional Christians, accusing us of not reading the bible carefully.

Some evangelical apologists too categorize Adventism (which started with those who firmly predicted Jesus to come again in the 1840s) itself is at least an eccentric sect, following Old Testament and extra-biblical regulations, if not a cult, not unlike many others that got founded about that time.

Is World Net Daily now officially Adventist?

If one were to carefully read the Holy Word of G-d, one would realize that the seventh day is the Sabbath.

Amen. and it has not changed all these millennium. neither does it correspond to ay natural solar or natural event. The sabbath is not manmade but comes from our Creator.

***I think Adventist are concerned and rightly so when the Church uses the state to enforce Sunday worship.***

I’v got several books by independent SDA teachers. all are filled with SDA hokum about the comimng Sunday worship law nonsence but wat really galls me is how they pervert the Mark of the Beast and through the most convoluted twisting of scriptures make it to be WORSHIPING ON SUNDAY.

If the US ever passes a national worship day (which it will never do)it will probably be a Friday so as not to offend the muzzies.

Have you had a chance to attend the child sacrifice ceremony yet?

That's not very funny.

Bones, stones and tools don’t mean much if they aren’t properly understood. :)

What I mean by this is that it is generally taught, that man’s existence can almost be traced by a linear graph, from the jungles of Africa to a paleontological and brutish existence, eventually our current existence which is the most advanced today.

In truth, there is plenty of evidence that shows our existence has gone up and down. We’ve gone from periods of primitiveness to advancement and back to primitiveness and back to advancement.

Da-yam! It's nice to deal with someone who gets it!

Satire is always funny.

I like to hyperbolize the misunderstandings and accusations of my church’s positions.

It’s the same basic advice that Paul gives when talking about meat being offered to idols.

What Paul means, as I understand it, is that he’s talking about how to deal with contentious issues in a peaceful manner.

As hard as Christians will study the Word of God, they are not going to always come to an agreement, so it becomes a question of how people can get along with each other, despite their disagreement.

What Paul advises is that if you believe something is wrong to do, don’t do it. Have a clean conscience, but don’t harass somebody to not do something they think they are free to do.

If a person believes they are free to do something, go do it. However, if you come across somebody who does not feel free to do something, don’t harass him into abandoning his position.

Unless it’s a gross wrong, Paul is, more or less, advising people to live and let live.

Actually, the day of the Sabbath is never mentioned.

The Law is powerless to do what Christ did on the Cross. Grace is imparted to us because we believe on Christ. We don't need "the Law."

Yah'shua is quoted by Matthew:
Mat 7:23 "And then I will declare to them,
'I never knew you;
DEPART FROM ME,
YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'
Yah'shua is quoting Psalm 6:8.

You are right, a couple of observations.

1. God knows which day He wanted us to keep as the Rest day. In fact, He informed us which day at Mount Sinai and he killed the Chosen people whenever they broke it.

2. The Jews have never forgotten which day to keep, once they were absolutely determined to keep it.

So, despite all historical mistakes and changes that anyone can come up with, we have the Jews as a perpetual reminder as to which day it was that God wanted to keep holy.

Look for this Sabbath issue to become more pronounced in the near future. The nature of man being what it is, there seems to be nothing more certain than someone who is convinced in his own mind of his position on a particular point. I would encourage anyone with a modicum of curiosity to explore the issue for yourself.

Ultimately all religions are cults. It all boils down to somebody told me something extraordinary happened, I believe it, that settles it.

It's always amusing to watch fervent members of the Book club arguing over which interpretation of their human scribbled fairy tale is the "truth."

You are correct. You don’t need the law to be saved. You need the Righteousness of Christ imparted to us by His death on the Cross.

The Ten Commandments don’t tell us how to be saved. They only tell us how we can be lost and they tell us our obligations to each other.

What is not understood by most Evangelicals is that the sacrificial system did not save one Jew. Those millions and, possibly billions, of sheep, goats, doves, and whatnot, would have been meaningless if Christ did not die on the cross.

No mention of the actual day in Genesis. Just the 7th day. I could be a Thursday or a Sunday.

It was explained to me that the reason for Sunday worship is that Saturday/Sabbath was considered too holy for even the church leaders/priests to work, so Sunday became the day of worship after a day of rest.

I’m not saying this is what happened, but it is an explanation I received once. It sounds plausible to me, but I’m so gullible...
