I’m confident that God could have had the prophets write ‘a seventh day’ and not ‘The Seventh day’ if it was His intent on keeping it vague.

Two clues that indicate that He meant it for man, and not just Jew, was the fact that He instituted it at Creation and He also makes it very clear that we will keep it in the New Earth.

You haven’t shown me anything to prove otherwise, other thanstraight up denial. But that’s ok, everybody is welcome to their opinion.

I’ve only proven that you base your belief on the consistency of the Jewish practice, not Scripture. The ONLY reason you chose Saturday is because of the Jewish Sabbath.

Which is fine as long as you realize you aren’t standing on holy ground. The Sabbath is what is important (kinda) and not the day itself.

As long as you’re clear that you’re denying the fact that God beat into them which day it was and the fact they’ve been faithful on that point, I’m fine with it. :)

“and the fact they’ve been faithful on that point”

You realize that you cannot prove this theory, right? Therefore it isn’t a fact. You simply assume they have been faithful since Moses.

Ultimately, by your arguement, nothing can be proven historically, so nothing is valid.

Absolutely nothing.

Prove to me God exists. You can’t, therefore He doesn’t exist. If God doesn’t exist, you don’t need to obey the Bible in anyway. It’s a freeforall.

That is the essence of your arguement. If it cannot be proven, it doesn’t exist.

“Prove to me God exists. You can’t, therefore He doesn’t exist. “

Wait. The existence of God solely exists on my ability to prove Him to you?

I’m not sure what to do with this much power but I like it.

I’m just pointing out that nothing is provable to the level you’re demanding.

You cannot prove to me that Moses wrote the Torah and you cannot prove to me that the various writers who are credited with writing the various books of the Old Testament.

The oldest, provable, New Testament book can be traced to about 300 AD, so by your defined parameters, the New Testament books must have been written around 300 AD or so, because that is what is provable, so it couldn’t have been Paul and the Apostles that wrote them.

In my books, I can accept the Jews claim that they have always kept the Sabbath from Sinai forward, especially since there is not one credible claim to the contrary. And their keeping of the Sabbath, as given by God, along with the Creation account, along with the fact that it will be kept in the New Earth, and most importantly, Christ kept it Himself. If Christ didn’t know better, nobody does.

“You cannot prove to me that Moses wrote the Torah”

Correct that is why the Bible doesn’t say he wrote the Torah. It says that it is believed that he wrote the Torah. That’s what my Bible says.

But you are missing the point. Your claim that the Saturday is based on Scripture is incorrect. The church chose Saturday because the Jews used Saturday. If they had been using Wednesday, you would use Wednesday. The Bible simply says a Seventh day, the Jews currently use Saturday so you use Saturday. Your faith on Saturday is in faithfulness of the Jewish nation throughout history, not the Scripture.

The dietary laws are a lot more concrete.

And you are assuming the Jews chose Saturday, as opposed to having it chosen for them.

When referring to the Sabbath, the term, ‘a rest day’ is never used. It is The Rest Day.

And by your parameters, the dietary laws are no more concrete, because there’s no guarentee that was was called a pig back then is called a pig today or a rat back then, being a rat today.

By your parameters, what you choose to do, is your choosing. You are your own god.

This is an incredibly stupid post!

WND has absolutely nothing to do with Adventists; they simply take the Biblical position on the sabbath, as well as on the Lord’s Feasts.

This is what Christianity was for its first 200 years.

Actually, the proposition that "Electricity comes from wall sockets" is NOT an article of faith.

Ouch.

Good point.

Of course I meant that most people behave as if the electric flow magically appears at the socket, with no connection to anything past their own circuit breakers., if they even think it back that far.

I could see half the mouth-breathers who went to my high school taking a microwave and a naked wall outlet from the hardware store camping...

>> “If one does an in depth study, Easter as we know it is the celebration of the risen Lord” <<

.
A “celebration” that is nowheres to be found in God’s word.

The Passover is what we were commanded to celebrate, and that is exactly what the apostles did. Every time that a “get together” of any kind is mentioned in the NT it is one of the Lord’s feasts; usually Passover.

>> “The term sabbath means rest day, that is all it means.” <<

.
Nonsense and ignorance.

Sabbath means “seventh” or an event that hinges on the completion of seven of something, usually seven sabbaths.

The Lord’s sabbath is still the seventh day of the week, and that was when Christians got together until the Romans took over the church, hundreds of years after Christ ascended.

Paul, a Jew, celebrated the Lord’s commanded feasts, not “important dates within the Jewish calendar.”

We are supposed to do that too, if we love the Lord.

No.

The root word of sabbath is shabbath, which is Hebrew for rest.

There were two kinds of sabbath, one that represented the various dates in the Hebrew calendar representing important events and the Sabbath, which was kept from Mount Sinai forward as commanded by God.

***So Gentile should force Seventh day Adventist or any other Seventh day Sabbath keeper to observe Sunday then?***

Again you have fallen into the “honoring the day” trap.

Christians DO NOT honor Sunday, we honor the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and CHRISTIANS have been doing so from Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the believers (on a Sunday) till now!

***Learn to count to three, and so much more will become apparent.***

Look at the chart on #112 again. Now show me what year it was. Does this conform to the dates from the early Christians?

Yes! Either 30AD or 33AD.

>> “And hence lies your problem. They were invalidated at the Cross. You’re adding to the Scriptures something that isn’t there” <<

.
Not much on the words of Christ, huh?

.
Mat 5:18
“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”

.
Did you get that part about Heaven and Earth passing?
