New Boehner Version (Cut Cap and Balance it ain't)
NRO ^ | 7/27/11 | Rich Lowry

Posted on 07/27/2011 3:19:03 PM PDT by hatfieldmccoy

We’re hearing it now cuts $917 billion over ten years under the more recent CBO baseline. So under $1 trillion. On the other hand, the cuts are apparently more front-loaded: $20 billion in real cuts in the first year.

UPDATE: Clarifying: We’re told the cut is $22 billion in fiscal year 2012 from the adjusted CBO baseline, and $42 billion in fiscal year 2013. Most of the change has to do with a technical adjustment one of our budget experts will have to explain. The new version preserves the 1:1 match in the first tranche of the debt increase, which leadership considers a very important benchmark for members. Leadership sounds increasingly optimistic about passage and even outsiders opposed to the Boehner plan have been predicting privately today that it will pass.

Cut spending NOW! Who gives a rats ass about spending cuts down the road. The dems want a trillion $ debt limit increase. Fine - cut $1 trillion in spending in the next 12 months. All these backloaded bull$#!+ cuts will never happen....red

So, essentially they’re only cutting Obama’s golfing budget by a few percent.

"$20 billion in real cuts in the first year", which now equates to 5 (FIVE) days borrowing.

Congress HAS to get Something done. Correct me if I’m wrong, but they have actually been in Washington 6 or 7 days working. I mean, we have “August Recess” coming up. Obama has to get on with his birthday party and vacation plans. The Lobbyists have the Congressional “junkets” planes and hotels booked and tee times are set. Lots more important things for our “leaders” to do than stay in DC and take care of the country.

I just heard on the hourly radio news that the Republicans are now offering Obambi a large enough blank check to take him past the 2012 elections. Our only saving grace now is for Texas to secede and to open their borders to only Tea Party supporters. Calgon, take me away!

This is substantial improvement.

Remember, this is only tranche 1. This not not FY2012. This is to extend at most to Q2 FY2012, about February. Additional cuts kick in then, or the debt ceiling is re-imposed.

This is a surprising increase in FY2012 cuts. It will without question reduce FY2012 GDP and increase unemployment, but that’s the price of getting real cuts.

Now the buzz word required to fight the battle in the polls is how Boehner has COMPROMISED with Democrats, even as this plan cuts MORE than the original.

NEVER EVER FORGET. This battle is going to be won at the polls. Just as the 1990s government shutdown was won by Clinton because Gingrich did not fight the battle in front of the camera, the way Boehner is doing.

So the time has now come to talk about how gentle and gradual these cuts are and how they are THE ONLY REAL COMPROMISE.

Are the Tea Party members falling for this crap too?

2 hours ago Michele Bachmann tweeted that SHE is holding firm on the cuts!

Does it really matter what's in his plan? Obama will veto anything the Republicans present that doesn't include raising taxes, err sorry.., revenues. I just hope that at the last second the GOP doesn't cave in and gives him what he wants.

OK, that’s fine, it buys us time.

Bambi is apparently planning to issue an “executive order” to circumvent all of this, so I’d say we’ve got to get our plan (even if seriously imperfect) into place right now or it’s all over.

Nobody is going to dare to oppose his “executive order” and this will mean the beginning of a single-party dictatorship.

Here’s MY plan:

Take the 2009 budget, the last one passed by Congress, and cut out the discretionary spending an pork barrel crap and pass it.

The Dems voted for it in 2008, so they can’t bitch about it now........

__________________________________________________________________________

This is even smaller than the $60 Billion the GOP was threatening to prune in the 2011 budget earlier this year before they chickened out.

What do these legislators take us for, fools?

So, essentially they’re only cutting Obama’s golfing budget by a few percent.

So, essentially it appears we are right back to the same old political bu!!sh!t!

Major cuts on paper and an increase in the budget for new spending in reality!

Anyone by now have the d@mn capital phone number memorized yet???

So basically $22 Billion of future increase will get cut, if they abide by the deal, which is not likely. Because we all know this deal does not bind future Congresses.

These yahoos burn through $4 trillion a year and want over a $ trillion more to spend and Boehner can only scrape up $22 billion to cut in 2012 and $42 billion in 2013?

It’s the spending, stupid!! Cut it or go home!!

Can't the Conservative House Republicans force Boehner out of his speaker ship?

Stage a damn revolt and replace his a$$!

Am I over simplifying this? Why can't they just tell him to step aside and let the REAL men and women lead if he won't?

I am so sick of Boehner and these damnable RINOs I could spit!!!

Allan West already saved before the CBO report.

Boehner needed to cut 150 BILLION more.

He could have done it for 2012 BUT DID NOT.

He is not serious about cutting spending
