Are these women ready for all the seamen?
As long as the Navy doesn’t give the billet to a “Horrible Holly” type.
She'll have the captains quarters in no time.
Someday, traveling to Obama’s grave site will be a great pilgrimage for real Americans.
We have much to show him by our emptying our bladders on his eternal resting place.
I'm old school... u cant put a women in a foxhole with a guy and expect them not to notice a difference in their down time....
Maybe some day..but we haven't evolved enough yet...
A nub ensign?
This is gonna work out well. /s
I worked in an all male unit and one of the most annoying things was when we had an attached unit that allowed females. Without fail (WITHOUT FAIL!) there would be several men just hanging around the area where females were. It is a constant distraction and NOONE dares say ANYTHING because it is a career death sentence.
I know there are many FReepers who served. Anyone have a different experience?
My brother, who served on a fast-attack nuclear submarine for 4 years, says this social engineering will be nothing short of disastrous.
Women are too much drama for close quarters
It will be nuclear but it won’t be an accident.
This is wrong. Women do not belong on a sub with men. If they want an all female crew on a sub, okay fine, I guess. But mixed crew? No way. It’s wrong.
This is a big mistake. STS/2 SS
What woman in her right mind wants to be in a tin can under the ocean? Plenty of guys are not temperamentally suited for it either.....

Lt. Cmdr Dodge: Men, at ease. I'd like to introduce you to the newest member of our crew, Lt. Emily Lake. Emily is part of a pilot program to test the feasibility of women serving on submarines. She's going to be our diving officer.
Stepanek: Can she do a one-and-a-half inward back in the layout position?
[laughter]
Lt. Cmdr Dodge: All right, look, gentlemen! I know this is an unusual situation. Can't be easy for Lt. Lake here to be thrown into a jungle such as this, and I know it will make things hard on all of us...
[laughter]
Lt. Cmdr Dodge: Let me re-phrase that. It's going to make things *difficult* on all of us as well. But if we just work together as a team, I'm sure we can handle ourselves...
[laughter]
Lt. Cmdr Dodge: *Comport* ourselves as professionals. That is all.
I’ve heard from a son who is in the Navy that a certain Aircraft carrier is as racially divided as a prison and that there is a prostitution ring on board.
