Oh, I don’t know. I’d say both parties got what they wanted. They got around the tea party, and they got to screw the public once again.

Will Never happen

I noticed some of your predictions over the last while were not on the money so I doubt that you're a prophet of how the thing will play out.

Obama has not gotten the tax hikes he's been promising since before he got in office so I don't see that you should be believing him now.

The RATS may be evil, BUT THEY ARE NOT STUPID considering that they are intentionally destroying the country in order to remake it into their communist image.

Ask yourself which party is more successful in reaching their goal — the PUBS or the RATS?

It is the PUBS that are spineless and stupid and afraid to get down in the dirt to fight the RATS.

IMHO, both parties were successful because both parties have the same goal.

The Pubs are not spineless, they just agreed to play that part. You know: Good-cop/Bad-cop.

I'm pretty sure we are being played on a larger scale than we know, or want to believe.

Yes, and that is why the Tea Party is so dangerous..but many of them even caved.

Were they duped or did they know what they were doing???

Don’t know yet.

Republicans remind me of “familiars” in Vampire shows, or characters like Patrick Dempsey’s in Transformers 3. They sell out to the evil overlords because they feel resistance is futile and the want to have their slice of the pie in the new order.

Don’t know yet.

One small thought leads me to many others: Enough of them caved.

Like I said, I think this is bigger than we can imagine:

Were enough of them threatened in the right way to make them cave?

Or, were those who caved just posing in order to infiltrate the Tea Party?

I realize this sounds all cloak, dagger and tinfoil hat, but I am really considering out-of-the box possibilities.

I see Washington more along the lines of the Borg, from Star Trek, even Captain Picard was "absorbed".

You’re right, it was Kasich. McConnell doesn’t play I guess.
Kasich is a good guy.

So the template is all on Boehner knowing. And Daley is a lying scum ward heeler from machine Chi-town.

Why would you believe anything Daley says?

Filibuster defeated. 74 Senators voted for the bill, only 60 are needed to override a filibuster.

Daley is incoherent, so to clarify — he’s pointing out that the properly publicly made proposals were shot down by the Party of the Single Party State, which controls the Senate for another 18 months or so. Thanks sickoflibs.

In IL, I think it's called "combine politics". Both parties work to screw the taxpayers. The media helps them.

seems to me *somebody* mentioned kabuki type soap opera cliffhangers a few days ago...

these azzhats dont even try to make it look real anymore...its like pro wrestling, scripted from the gitgo and very dependent upon how good the 'actors' are as to whether it sells tickets [votes]...

and as always, in soaps, wresting or TARP/stimulus/QE1-infinity, theres has to be an epic battle and a cliffhanger/looming catastrophy to set the hook, then its just a matter of reelin in the big ones...

RE :”, theres has to be an epic battle and a cliffhanger/looming catastrophy to set the hook..

Yes, the battle. We beat the Dems on this one kind of, sort of, well we didnt get stuck with more taxes anyway, they saved us from that, even if that was invented and never an issue. See it's like we just got another tax cut :) YAY!

So lets elect more RINOs like McCain and McConnell, and we will do even better next time.

I actually saw McConnell say that in an interview, I didnt even have to make that one up, he didnt use the word RINOs though, I HAD TO CLARIFY WHAT HE REALLY MEANS.
