Aaron Nieman is frustrated, after his pregnant wife's insulin and ice packs were confiscated by TSA screeners at Denver International Airport on Thursday afternoon.

The couple has traveled around the world with her supplies and have never encountered any troubles before. "It made me feel upset and made me feel somewhat helpless," he said.

It is very disturbing that the husband feels a need, in the United States of America, to withhold his wife’s name for fear of retaliation. That’s what people usually have to do in totalitarian states. Welcome to Obamaville.

I thought you are allowed to carry required medical supplies with you, even liquid exceeding the limits, as long as you had valid and legitimate medical reasons? Did the TSA screw up again?

Yes, you are right.

I have read the TSA is taking names of all who give them trouble, and have even read they are including those who opt out, so I can understand the reaction.

Attempted murder.

Insulin is absolute for a diabetic's life, isn't it?

I can't be sure it's insulin sounds the same as I didn't know the gun was loaded.

So many of the actions of the TSA can be better understood by noting that they parallel those of totalitarian states. The screeners, by exercising control of the public’s access to private businesses, are re-creating the early actions of the sturmabteilung. The TSA agents who subject travelers to retaliation for standing up for themselves are this generation’s zampolit. And someone who would confiscate insulin from a diabetic ... well, that’s someone who is working towards reinstating the einstatzgruppen.

The TSA has long since become a national scandal and a national disgrace, yet no one seems inclined to do anything about it.

How many Americans, that we simply haven’t heard about from the State Run media, have these sub-human monsters assassinated?

Attempted murder.

Nope. Low grade stupid. The TSA is unionized, so stupid has no consequences. For them.

BTW, attempted murder would have been better. Without the idiots who just thought they were running cattle cars, several million Jewish civilians wouldn't have been exterminated in Nazi Germany...

At the news article’s website, someone speculated that her insulin bottles, which are far smaller than the maximum size liquid container permitted as carry on luggage, possibly lacked prescription labels. What percentage of Americans need injectable insulin? Any doctors know? This can’t be a new issue. Even the dork thug could have clued her in to the proper protocol for carrying medications rather than being a gratuitous bully about it.

I wonder if the airline industry knows how much damage this is doing to their business and bottom line?

They sure seem awfully quiet about all this BS.

Every day... another TSA story... but nothing from the airlines fighting back.

I wouldn’t fly even if it were free... just to avoid the hassle.

Don’t know. The TSA does, however, routinely radiate men, women, children, cancer survivors, people who are predisposed to get cancer, pregnant people, the elderly, et cetera, with a radiation pattern that:

has never before been tested on humans
is not known to be safe
is likely to be far more dangerous than stated

There is a high probability that people will die as a result of this radiation exposure. There is 100% certainty that the TSA does not know the opposite to be true, i.e. that no one will die as a result of their actions. And yet, they keep on doing it, day after day, person after person.

For what it’s worth, the Hopkins studies that the TSA dishonestly claims show the scanners are safe, indicated that the radiation dose at the entry and exit regions outside the scanners were 19% of the stated radiation dose within the scanner. That means that the TSA agents who work in those entry and exit regions are being radiated with 19% of the radiation delivered to the people inside the scanners. Over and over and over again. That radiation adds up pretty quick (though, admittedly, the scanning characteristics of the radiation in the entry / exit zones are likely very different than the scanning characteristics within the machine itself.) Something to think about.

The TSA always screws up. It’s their motto “Tough Shit America”.

They’d have fun with my defibrilator and stents. They’d probably want me to take them out and show them. Problem with that. I can’t carry a knife to cut open my chest to pull them out. A real Catch-22.

Time to dismantle TSA and start over again, with a leader with an IQ above 2 and staff who have some common sense.

Obama really has destroyed America.

Ice in a bottle is allowed but the TSA smurfs never know that. If you ask for a manager, they will overrule them. You can’t have any liquid in the bottle though (drain any melt before bringing bottle through). This rule came through after TSA let Spears through a check point with a cup of ice and since they’re always right...

The insulin bit is crazy. Lots of people use it while traveling.

When they came out with the two nude-o-tube technologies, I was skeptical about the radiation (the one with a box on each side is the one to worry about, the tube less so) but you can be sure that the unionized TSA workers will be filing a massive lawsuit in 10-15 years over radiation exposure and will receive a huge payout. Since government has no problem giving away other people’s money to favored minority groups and labor unions, the payout will sail through.
