I am tired of the same ole left over pols from D.C.
Perry will be the answer to our problems.
.............................

“Through three terms as governor, Perry has overseen significant job growth in his state while working to keep taxes low. He was an early backer of the tea party movement and enjoys the support of social conservatives because of his opposition to abortion and gay rights. He is also an evangelical Christian who organized a well-attended prayer rally in his state last week.

Perry is a prodigious fundraiser who has already begun laying the groundwork for a national finance network his supporters say would rival that of President Obama, who is expected to exceed his record-breaking $750 million haul from 2008.

But some Republicans worry that Perry’s hard-core conservatism and Texas style may not play well in a 50-state contest, particularly coming so soon after former President George W. Bush’s two White House terms. Bush had record low approval ratings when he left office in 2009.”

Best line: AMERICA IS NOT BROKEN...WASHINGTON DC IS BROKEN

Great line indeed!

I also liked this one:

I didn't know it at the time, but I met my wife when I was 8 years old. 8 years later we began to date. 16 years after that she agreed to marry me. You can't say I'm not persistent.

Warms my little heart.

Could a benefit of the Perry announcement be to encourage thoughtful FReepers to post more regularly? I, for one, hope so. The level of discourse on this board has continued to plummet recently.

While I, like many, am not 100% up to speed on Rick Perry, the intangibles and the “gut feel” off listening to (on radio) are there for me.

It certainly gets much more interesting now.

Palin is going to support Perry. Perry is going to appoint Palin Secretary of Energy. Palin is going to be the driving force behind economic recover. She will be Perry’s VP candidate in 2016 after she has proven herself. They will win. She will run for President and win in 2020.

:-) That is my dream. I still feel in my heart of hearts that Palin is a born leader.

From Mr. Perry’s website:

“The change we seek will never emanate out of Washington…it must come from the windswept prairies of Middle America…the farms and factories across this great land…the hearts and minds of God-fearing Americans who will not accept a future that is less than our past…who will not be consigned a fate of less freedom in exchange for more government.”

So far, so good!

I’m likin what I’m hearin!

There’d be a grain of truth to it if you did.

“Rick Perry once shook hands with a Muslim and didn’t take his gun out of his holster and shoot him”

I hope you’re joking there and even so, that is simply not right to say. Not all Muslims are terrorists, in the same way that not all Christians are terrorists.

We can’t be known as a party of hate. Comments like that do not help our cause at all.

Hmmmmm.... Is that why's he's spouting slogans in spanish???? “The message is simple,” Perry concluded, “educacion es el futuro, y si se puede

More similarities to Bush.

Keep the Feds out of our schools and enough with the Spanish lingo.

COAT TAILS. If we can get a conservative candidate who excites the people, Congress will follow.

Any one who can deliver a speech that is not about "shared sacrifice", "Bush's fault", uh, uh, I, I, I, me, me, me and is even half way inspiring should take this Country by storm!

Especially when they can do it without a teleprompter!

Everyone wants to know who I support against Obama. Anyone is more qualified. However, it will take someone equally or more ruthless to be Victorious. Perry is a threat to Washington’s elite status quo royalty. I like that. As our MSM evermore smears Perry, take heart.
