OBAMA: One of the challenges in terms of rebuilding our economy is – businesses have gotten so efficient, that, uh, when was the last time somebody went to a bank teller? Instead of using an ATM. Or, used a travel agent instead of going online. A lot of jobs out that that used to require people now have become automated.

RE :”OBAMA: One of the challenges in terms of rebuilding our economy is – businesses have gotten so efficient, that, uh, when was the last time somebody went to a bank teller? Instead of using an ATM. Or, used a travel agent instead of going online. A lot of jobs out that that used to require people now have become automated.

And most grocery stores here replaced union workers with automated checkers that dont require health insurance. That is all well and good, however back in 2008 when Obama made all those optimistic quotes below I remember him claiming the POTUS is responsible for unemployment, not automation. Do these still move you?

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for.

This time we have to write a new chapter in American history. This time we have to seize the moment.

That has always been the cause of America. That's why the world has always looked to America. And that's why I believe America will continue to lead.

There are some structural issues that I think we have to deal with, to make sure that everybody is seeing a growing economy but also, everybody is prospering at the same time.

Let us remember that if this financial crisis taught us anything, it’s that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers.

He's right.

The smart Business's got very efficient. They stopped hiring when Obama-care was being legislated so they would not get in trouble.

Then they got waivers for Obama-care in exchange for campaign donations.

The ones that couldn't get waivers just stopped hiring.

Now the smart business's are waiting to see if Soebarkah is reelected before they hire.

There may be some truth to this. I think the internet played a role in the number of Democrats who lost their job last November.

Obama

Gee.....that’s a neat trick. It has never happened anywhere in human history. Reagan was the closest.....It requires a fascist dictator to pull it off.......of course, all the dictator would actually accomplish is abject misery for everyone....which is pretty much what America has become.

General Electric moves an entire manufacturing plant to China and he blames the internet??? In order to believe Obama anymore, you can’t be just “drinking the kool-aid”, you have to be taking it intravenously.

The best "jobs creation plan" would be an announcement that his Administration would adopt the philosophy expressed by Jefferson and Madison, which, by the way, was the philosophy that made America the place of greatest opportunity, freedom, productivity, and plenty in the history of the world. Compare and/or contrast his statements with these:

"Agriculture, manufactures, commerce, and navigation, the four pillars of our prosperity, are the most thriving when left most free to individual enterprise." - Thomas Jefferson

"The enviable condition of the people of the United States is often too much ascribed to the physical advantages of their soil & climate .... But a just estimate of the happiness of our country will never overlook what belongs to the fertile activity of a free people and the benign influence of a responsible government." - James Madison

I want to see a general election debate where one candidate stands up and just says

Mr. Obama is there anything or anyone other than yourself that you have not blamed for your failures?

And ATMs. Don’t forget those. Hey, I know — let’s tax internet transactions — not just interstate sales, but every packet of data — as well as data packets moved in the banking data systems. We’ll balance the budget in no time. /s

Thanks sickoflibs.
