Prosecutors are reportedly set to ask a judge to abandon the case against Dominique Strauss Kahn. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance is preparing to ask that all charges against the former head of the IMF accused of attempting to rape hotel maid Nafissatou Diallo are dropped Tuesday.

Such requests from the DA 'are never denied', an expert told the New York Post meaning Strauss-Kahn could finally return to his home country after being forced to remian in the U.S for months.

Imagine not one but two utterly sick people consuming so much ink and court time.

The guy might be total scum, but she is worse. She has destroyed his reputation and now it looks like he will not be able to fulfill his dream of serving his country as President of France. It might not seem much to you, or others on here, but for him this has destroyed a dream of leading his country.

That's what magicians do so you don't see what really going on.

IIRC, Michael Savage called this one pretty much from the get go.

The minute she asked for money, that was when she blew it big time. Money over justice, I bet the whole thing was a total lie.

Definately. I wasn’t as sure that he was guilty either; as it is, someone who started talking about the way to get money with a criminal boyfriend set off an alarm, plus other circumstantial behavior. Strauss-Khan didn’t seem too eager to get away from the scene of the crime to me.

Your welcome; it’s good to know that an innocent man will not be going to jail and I’m optimistic his reputation will be restored. I just hope he might be able to become President of France, despite all of this. Those idiots who marched in the parade denouncing rape (and rich white men) are going to look (and hopefully feel) like total morons.

Oh, I understand that this has destroyed in the short-term his goal of running to become President of France (no guarantee he’d have won). He could probably, in time and given the nature of this particular charge, overcome the damage to his reputation. The other stories that emerged publicly, tho, will be harder for him to deal with if he wants to pursue a political career.

To me, one of the absolute worst things anyone can do is to set out to destroy another’s reputation. Unfortunately for Mr Strauss Kahn, he IS, and was known widely - as in open secrets - to be a sleazeball. He’s no Ray Donovan.

Whoa wait a minute Partner. I agree this woman was garbage, but this guy did actually have some sort of sex with her and has a history of harrassment a mile long.Obviously his marriage means little to him.

He is no hero to be leading a country, he is a POS who got what he had been asking for for years, Only his money has saved him now from prison.

He deserved to be taken down a peg and France is lucky.

True, but even those with perfect reputations can be a lot worse. Now that he is vindicated, I am sure that he will be able to work on fixing things up, like going on television and talking about it frankly in interviews and also make sure that all and sundry know that it was false. He must thank his lucky stars that he had the resources to protect himself.

“His dream of being able to molest whoever he wants with impunity?” The guy’s immoral. not who we need leading France or leading the local gas station.

It doesn’t matter who or what the dude is. What this and so many other cases demonstrate is that the accused male is presumed to be guilty. There was an article in the WSJ a couple of days ago about instructions to that effect from Obambi’s Dept. of Education to all colleges accepting Federal aid (in practice almost all colleges and universities in the country.) The sleazeballs are those of us who fall for this policy and have fallen for it in this case and all other recent cases.

He has no good reputation to restore, Niuhuru. And certainly not a reputation that one would want for the head of the IMF or for president of any allied country. It’s not only that he was an alley cat, like Clinton, but also that he chose women not in a position, either financially or politically, to fight back.

He wasn’t guilty of this charge, but his reputation as a sleazy scumbag long preceded this story. His victims were shut up, as in the daughter of his political ally, or young women who worked in positions subordinate to his. There’s not much good to be said for him, other than that he did not commit this particular crime.

And I’m not sure why you’d be so anxious for a Socialist to be elected President of France ???

If France is lucky the political opposition will slip him a hemlock on the flight home.

Glad that the legal system works as it should, but he’s still an unquestioned scumbag who probably should consider himself very lucky.

He is a scum-bag and she is a scum-bagette.

They both deserve whatever they got or didn’t get.

The reason she thought she could pull this scam off is no doubt because she, or someone working with her, knew he has a history as a sexual predator who has avoided accountability because of his wealth and connections.

The real significance of her claim now is the fact the well publicized charges emboldened others he has victimized to come forth and finally tell their stories of his sexual assaults.

The case of the diplomat vs the grifter. The defense alleges she may have been doubling up as a prostitute in the hotels she worked. There is a thin line between guilt and innocence when it comes to a charge of raping a prostitute. It hinges on whether the check bounced.Incarcerate him, deport her. Next case, please.
