Thank you all.
I hate to sound like an idiot, but I haven’t been keeping up with the threads and I don’t know what’s going on.
I assume you mean Bethesda, it was the National Naval Medical Center. I understand that this was a “consolidation” with some new construction and a name change for as least the Army folks.
On Saturday, people stood outside the gates to Walter Reed with American flags, as many of them have over the past six years, to honor the troops. These former servicemembers -- belonging to groups such as Free Republic, Gathering of Eagles and America's Mighty Warriors -- did not go unnoticed or unappreciated by Coots and his staff. Thanks kristinn.
Thank you for the mention. I appreciate it.
Thanks Jim!

Thanks for your post.
We had several press photogs interfacing with the DC Chapter of Free Republic during the Saturday transfer.
In the photograph above, from the left is Mrs Trooprally and then VictoryNY, good FReepers both.
WaPo photographer Matt had a photo published in the Washington Post of Freeper Prez222USA, saluting an ambulance as it passed.

Kristinn, my wife and I are active duty military, and she is TDY there right now as a nurse, moving patients. Her name is 1Lt. April Oliver. I’m sure there are lots of people there but if you happen to run into her, give her a hug from her hubby!
Well I mean it sounds like Walter Reed is going to be closed or something. Is that the case?
Yes. Most of the patients were sent to an expanded Naval Hospital a few miles away in Bethesda, Md.
I think VictoryNY is in charge of dispensing hugs. Thanks to you and the missus for serving!
Thank you!
That clarifies it, thank you.
DC Chapter leads the way. God Bless you all.

Thank you for posting. At least the Army Times did us up right. Great picture of Chad saluting the ambulance. You can even see our banner in the back ground.
And we were surprised that Col. Coots walked outside the gate and shook our hands - icing on the cake.
Kburi should be posting a thread with more pictures.

Thank you TroopRally and Heather and ALL the DC patriots who stood every Friday in support of our wounded warriors!
Sending Florida hugs to all of you!
You guys are due for a sabbatical, but I sure will miss the Fri night AARs. I love you and appreciate all of you. May you be blessed.
God Bless kristinn!
