IS CHINA PLANNING A SURPRISE MISSILE ATTACK?
World Affairs ^ | August 30, 2011 | Gordon G. Chang

Posted on 09/01/2011 1:38:05 AM PDT by SatinDoll

A retired Chinese general recently revealed that his country might be planning a surprise missile attack on the United States. The public comment of Xu Guangyu came in response to WikiLeaks revelations that last year Washington had warned its allies beforehand of China’s test of a missile interceptor.

[China acts like a child, swaggering and nasty. There is no reason to attack another nation pre-emptively and when it has been done to us, the results are very unpleasant for the agressor.] C'mon!!! Iraq? Kosevo? Libya? Anyway and if I may say so, this is but yet another of Gordon's out of equilibrium and consistent geriatric-like mental state of rant and logics designed to capture simple-minded readership such as yourselves. I mean others than NATO which have designs on everyone, why would countries which have no forces outside of their country even consider a policy of preemption unless it's to guard against silly ideas that these same people or forces might have on them?

Iraq attacked Kuwait.

The Persian Gulf War (August, 1990 – February, 1991), known as the Gulf War, was waged by a U.N.-authorized coalition force from thirty-four nations led by the United States, against Iraq in response to Iraq’s invasion and annexation of the State of Kuwait.

Members of the Coalition included Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belgium, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Egypt, France, Greece, Honduras, Hungary, Italy, Kuwait, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Niger, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the United States of America.

As is usual after a war, Iraq signed an agreement to stop all hostilities at the end of the Gulf War. Within 24 hours, Iraq had violated that agreement.

In April of 2001, Sadam Hussein paid and provided the logistics for a meeting in Jakarta, Indonesia, for Al Qaeda’s various members. Later the CIA would discover the meeting was used to coordinate and plan the attack on the U.S.A., September 11, 2001.

Sadam Hussein NEVER stopped fighting the Gulf War. We had every international right to go back in, per the agreement Hussein signed in 1991, and finish him off.

Kosovo - Europe is responsible for what happened in eastern Europe. Clinton stupidly went along to make political points. Frankly, I’m all for supporting Serbia, as Al Qaeda was the, and still is, operating openly in the Muslim dominated parts of eastern Europe.

Libya - you’re talking about the Muslim Barak H. Obama II double-crossing a murderous dictator and aiding rebels. As for unprovoked, we should have killed Gaddafi after the Lockerbie bombing.

An attack on Taiwan is self-defeating for China.

Both nations are involved in business and commerce. They could come to a negotiated agreement that benefits both parties.

This invasion talk is sabre-rattling by a military that is grossly over-manned with nothing much to do.

If Obama starts replacing our nuclear sub captains with ‘friends’ then it’s time to build fallout shelters...

...who may be happy to respond to a Chinese nuke attack with unconditional surrender.

Surrender to Far Eastern Infidels? Not likely. They'll hit the Chinese from both sides first.

It makes no sense for China to attack us. Soon they’ll own the deed, however, if they could utterly destroy us then yes, maybe it does make sense, they can easily raise a 200 million man army and rule the world, if I was into that kind of thing, I’d give it a try ...

But don’t worry, we won’t prepare for it.

Not just that, but if they kill us, they will be killing off their customer base.

I remember reading it. Chillingly accurate and the possibility of Asia and Europe taking over temporarily is a very real thing. It’s only temporary, but there can be a lot of pain in even the most temporary of situations.

Then they should spend some time with American geeks on how to learn how to occupy their idle hands. They know more on keeping idle hands occupied.

I do hope we don’t have to take the paddle to their arses, giving them a spanky.

I too roll my eyes every time I see another one of Gordon “The sky is falling” Chang’s articles. I’m the last one who will give the Chinese totalitarians and nationalists any benefit of the doubt, but Chang never helps his cause by his almost-paranoid writings.

Of course not, we’re too interested in promoting gays and lesbians and protecting our criminal element from the consequences of their actions.

Attack the US? Don’t see it happening. Regardless of our leadership, we still have the most powerful military by far.

Attack Taiwan? THAT I’ve been predicting for a while. Expect they’d have a quiet chat on a secure phone with the O, our navy would wander out of the Pacific, massive debts would be quietly forgiven, and Taiwan duly annexed.
