Cops Confiscate Lakewood Lady’s Arsenal; Motive Pending
Scene Magazine ^ | Tuesday, August 30, 2011 | Kyle Swenson

Francesca Rice no longer serves in her country’s armed forces, but she brought a piece of the action back home with her.

It seems the Lakewood vet had stockpiled her Edgewater Towers condo with a home arsenal including handguns, shotguns, a sniper rifle — plus a Thompson sub-machine gun, just in case the pizza guy got fresh.

Her cache somehow caught the attention of Lakewood Police, who paid a visit last September. When they found Rice wasn’t home, they asked an obliging employee of the complex to open up the apartment without her consent. Once inside, they raided the gun rack, making off with 13 firearms worth around $15,000. The only problem: They had no apparent reason to.

More corrupt cops confiscating private property for no reason, entering and seizing firearms from a private home with no warrant, and refusing to return illegally-obtained property without a court order. When will enough be enough, America?

Kyle Swenson (reporter) needs to avoid comedy.

Someone tipped the cops off that there were some nice guns at this condo - they used their powers of intimidation to gain access to them and to steal them. There are, apparently, some crooked cops in Flakewood (Ohio’s homosexual capital BTW).

He wasn’t trying to be comedic.

That was his anti-gun bias showing through. Because, you know, all gun owners are nutcases who use fully automatic weapons whenever they can.

I really effing hate the state-run media.

Where is the lawsuit against the apartment complex

Sounds like a small collection, less than what I have even.
I bet SWAT would get really upset if it was found that there is millions of pitchforks being bought covertly all across America as I type this and are being secretly stockpiled in hidden warehouses to then be shipped out as needed when the peasants want to remove the corrupt officials.

Time to start hoarding pitchforks!

Uh..yeah. I seriously doubt that L'il Miss had an FTL and the proper paperwork to own a Thompson.

Even still, the JBT had no legal authority to enter her apartment. A lot of detail missing from this story...as usual.

By way of the comments on the article, Lakewood Ohio is already notorious. The union thugs (also known as cops) in this corrupt department already have conceded that the raid had no warrent and was illegal, but they STILL won't return the weapons without court order.

Basically, thieves, pure and simple.

There’s no indication it’s full-auto at all.

If the entire collection was worth $15K, then there is no way the Thompson is full-auto.

More likely just a semi-auto.

"When will enough be enough, America?"

When police helicopters fall in flames. Until then, they'll do pretty much as they like.

Negotiating with power mad predators leads to the same outcome as the phographer who thought he had a kinship with Alaskan bears.

I really doubt she needed it, as the Thompson was almost assuredly a post-war semi-auto replica firearm. A real class III Thompson is worth more than the total dollar amount that they gave for the collection.

So she had a semi-auto .45 carbine, not a submachine gun.

Fixed it. This is standard police procedure. This will continue to happen until the individual police who do this sort of KGB/Stassi stuff are held criminally liable for their actions. Look at what happened in New Orleans after Katrina.

When will enough be enough, America?

Also how long before FR's resident jackboot lickers chime in to justify what the thugs in blue did this time?

More likely just a semi-auto.

And truth be told...probably a replica and not a genuine Thompson.

Amid all the zipped lips, there’s a moral here for everybody: Gun owners, beware of law enforcement looking to trod upon your rights. And non-gun owners, beware of neighbors who are particularly well prepared for the zombie apocalypse.

The last paragraph in this story is applicable to the list for a ping.

There are semi-auto replicas of the Thompson for sale, which is probably what she had.

Tranlation: The cops beginning with the chief have already taken them home.

Perhaps not even that. I knew a deputy sheriff who had a semi-auto replica racketeer Thompson in 22 cal. Nice little toy, and affordable to shoot.
