A man who has filed well over a hundred lawsuits against local small-business owners says he's an advocate for the disabled. His critics say what he does is harassment and extortion.
James Farkus Cohan says he's disabled with end-stage emphysema. He sues small businesses, claiming those businesses are violating the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Cohan has filed at least 161 lawsuits...
Eyewitness News caught up with Cohan after his daily hike up a steep hill near his Sun Valley home. He was hiking without a wheelchair, walker or oxygen tank.

Since he admits he DOESN’T need a wheelchair, on what basis were these businesses being sued? End-stage emphysema patients can barely walk, or even eat, and most often never leave their homes.

To put an even finer point on it. The guy is buff. Almost all end stage emphysema patients are skin and bones. I bet the people out there who do have end stage disease would give their right arm to be able to go on a friggin’ daily hike in the mountains. I also love how he calls the reporter a “n-word”. Dude is a piece of $hit who needs to be put behind bars. Along with his shyster attorneys.

We need more of this going on. There is no doubt in my mind every state has thousands of these people on the dole, and there’s never anybody to investigate stuff like this.
In fact, if this guy hadn’t filed so many lawsuits, he’d likely never been taped!
someone, who was sued by this guy, needs to go after the lawyer - he had to know the client was faking - trial lawyers have been going to jail in a fair number of case in past 4 years. They will have money to pay back the cases they won - fraud.
I thought that too. If they left the n-words intact, it might really gin up some action by the politicians. And possibly a few “community activists”.

They were being sued by a man who had filed over 50 ADA suits against California businesses. His grievance was the toilet was 1/2 inch too close to the wall and the bathroom counter and paper towel holder were too high. He was asking for $4000 per day until settlement. That amounted to over $2 million when the idiot filed.
Thank goodness the restaurant won.
