Ford goes there... Their latest television ad knocks the bailed out competition.

The Tatler reported: This hurts:

REPORTER: Chris, was buying American important to you?

CHRIS: I wasn’t going to buy another car that was bailed out by our government. I was gonna buy from a manufacturer that’s standing on their own, win, lose or draw. That’s what America’s about is, taking the chance to succeed and understanding when you fail, that you’ve gotta pick yourself up and go back to work. Ford is that company for me.

Next car will be a Ford.

So, anyone know any LOYAL Chrysler or GM customers who will now buy Ford or something else going forward?

some of the money that bought the ford...
was sent to the fedgov...
which was sent to ford’s competition to keep them afloat

ford is being forced to work against their own best interests

yea, this makes sense and is totally sustainable

I had a '94 Explorer, which I loved. My '04 Escape is not the same climb as the Explorer. It's a good height, easy to get in and out of. My wife likes it (although she likes her Pilot more).

2004 Ford Escape
It's very quick and has (real) 4-wheel drive. Great car.

We’ve always been Ford fans and that for sure won’t change now. In the past 8 yrs we’ve owned 2 F350s (one was a Harley model), an F450, a Mustang and a Flex.

Check out the FLEX. I am in all kinds of rental cars and on our last visit to Watkins Glen, we received a FLEX for our rental. Mindful that our team is all serious car guys (racing) we were all impressed with the fit, finish, luxury appointments, power and ride. All of the inner seats were very comfortable and folded down far easier than my wife’s LX 470.

Plus it gives you the seating you are looking for. Went to look at one tonite and it will be the next new vehicle I buy. My daily ride is a 2000 F350 Lariat, Crew Cab, Dually, Long Bed, 7.3 Power Stroke.

We bought a new Ford Taurus for this very reason. Their sales rose dramatically shortly after the bailout and it became known that they refused it.

I’d like something where the seat is about ‘butt height’, where I can just slide over onto, into which I neither have to climb up, or sit DOWN.

You might check out the Flex - it's longer than the Escape but the driving position is lower than most SUVs. In a choice between the Edge and the Flex, I chose the Flex.

Still flogging my ‘93 F-150 4X4, bought new.

Second clutch, 3rd exhaust, 4th set of tires. 165,000 miles.

Straight six that refuses to die. My wife thinks I’m crazy but I’m not parting with this rig ‘til the engine dies. No sign of that yet.

Good for Ford.
They only said what many millions have thought since the collective idiots at GM and Chrysler were bailed out. =.=

As far as I’m concerned, GM and Chrysler are dead. Will never buy one of thier vehicles again.

I bought a Ford F150, Ol’ Blue, in 1978. Before she passed away, she had carried me 460,000 miles on three engines.

R.I.P., Ol’ Blue.

I expected the mileage to be much higher. Ford trucks kind of work in my experience.

Heard a local Ford dealer ad on the radio today. They proudly proclaimed that they did not accept bail out money.

Don't kid yourself, they're all on Uncle Sam's tit:

25 June 2009

"Ford Motor Company was supposed to be the only major U.S. automaker not in need of a bailout, but this week Ford accepted a $5.9 billion loan subsidy under the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007"

I won’t say I will never buy gm again, but it will be a long time.

Or until they go bankrupt again. I think it will happen... I just hope it does under a more free market oriented president, and they learn hard and unpleasant lessons.

But I won’t buy Ford either... UAW touched it? I don’t want it! The bailout of GM just put money in the UAW’s pockets, and as long as Ford allows that cancer to stay within its factory walls, it will continue to metastasize and eventually defeat Ford.

“Can’t strike” like the goons in Washington “couldn’t” (at least not in the manner they did). If they sense Obama weakness, the Marxist thugs may well do that anyhow.
