McCain can’t lift his arms above his chest (watch when he waves) due to being hanged by his arms with them tied behind him while at the Hanoi Hilton..

Just because McCain is mentally ill does not mean you should disreagrd what he says.

Just because McCain is mentally ill does not mean you should disreagrd what he says. But nobody much is listening to him anymore. He has nobody's attention, on the Republican or Democrat side. He is largely irrelevant.

I’ve seen that photo several times...do you know anything about it? What was the circumstance..and is it photoshopped?
Barring all that...McCain is a vile & despicable old man. What was AZ thinking in reelecting that POS?

Idiots like McCain conflating our “enhanced interrogation” with torture hurt us.
There is a huge difference between what we do and what people who engage in ACTUAL torture do.
Thus people on our side should always differentiate.
McCain was tortured and still carries the wounds decades later.
After a session of waterboarding a jihadist would be perfectly physically able to play a rousing game of racket ball.

Not as much as it hurt them.Bingo!
And while I am usually quick to refute McQueeg's waffling due to his suppressed PTSD from captivity, for once I think this interpretation of his comments was a deliberate oversimplification by the headline writer. He is correct that it made us look bad.
But so what?

This guy by having experienced some of this, has a mind set that we do what the Vietnamese did, plus he is the wrong choice to be in leadership of any kind, is flawed..

There are ways you can disagree with your country without exalting yourself and making it all about your moral superiority—but McCain always avoids them.

Conservatives: McCain tortures US.
To: NonValueAdded
Exactly. McCain WAS tortured, not merely PRESSURED to give information that if nonexistent, would have ended the torture sessions.
To: rabscuttle385
His North Vietnamese communist captors are living rent free inside McCain’s head. McCain is so messed up he thinks our style of water boarding is torture. McCain gets to put on his moral superpower act since he got some real torture in captivity.

John McCain must realize that 'waterboarding' (used on only a few 'high value' prisoners) and the kind of severe, long-term physical abuse he suffered in a North Vietnam prison as a POW are hardly comparable. That he chooses to conflate the two, knowing that the result of the waterboarding elicited valuable, life-saving information but claiming that it 'hurt us' is despicable and utterly false. That most Americans approve of 'enhanced interrogation techniques' such as 'waterboarding' on specific 'high value' prisoners captured during combat must really annoy McCain. Too bad. John McCain annoys me.
