Sen. John McCain, a critic of President George W. Bush's use of enhanced interrogation techniques in the war on terror, reflected on the issue of torture a decade after the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Abu Ghraib and the torture of prisoners hurt us a great deal and did provide a propaganda tool for our enemies including Al Qaeda, the Arizona Republican said on "Fox News Sunday."
Noting that on the 10th anniversary of those attacks he did not want to dwell on his differences with the current and previous administration, McCain applauded both Bush and President Barack Obama for the advancements made in the war on terror.
Many of the things that we did achieve were very laudable, McCain said. The United States now has vastly improved capabilities to combat our enemies.
McCain can’t lift his arms above his chest (watch when he waves) due to being hanged by his arms with them tied behind him while at the Hanoi Hilton..
Just because McCain is mentally ill does not mean you should disreagrd what he says.
But nobody much is listening to him anymore. He has nobody's attention, on the Republican or Democrat side. He is largely irrelevant.
I’ve seen that photo several times...do you know anything about it? What was the circumstance..and is it photoshopped?
Barring all that...McCain is a vile & despicable old man. What was AZ thinking in reelecting that POS?
There is a huge difference between what we do and what people who engage in ACTUAL torture do.
Thus people on our side should always differentiate.
McCain was tortured and still carries the wounds decades later.
After a session of waterboarding a jihadist would be perfectly physically able to play a rousing game of racket ball.
McCain ..part of the blame America 1st crowd
Bingo!
And while I am usually quick to refute McQueeg's waffling due to his suppressed PTSD from captivity, for once I think this interpretation of his comments was a deliberate oversimplification by the headline writer. He is correct that it made us look bad.
But so what?
If wearing panties on one's head is the worst that happens to these hateful tools of Islamist terror masters, BFD.
There are ways you can disagree with your country without exalting yourself and making it all about your moral superiority—but McCain always avoids them.
McInsane is wrong...torture saved lives.
FUJM
Conservatives: McCain tortures US.
Exactly. McCain WAS tortured, not merely PRESSURED to give information that if nonexistent, would have ended the torture sessions.
His North Vietnamese communist captors are living rent free inside McCain’s head. McCain is so messed up he thinks our style of water boarding is torture. McCain gets to put on his moral superpower act since he got some real torture in captivity.
Exactly.
“Discomfort” is NOT torture!
(McCain’s RINO-ness is what hurt us.)
I apologize for voting for him but there was no other way to vote for Sarah.
if you go to 1:29:10...you’ll catch a glimpse of clownie acting up......

you can fast forward on this vid, just go to 1:29:00 and watch when the debate was concluded...
Exactly ... and note to McLame ... it isn’t about you because Obama sucks all of the “ME ME ME ME” air out of the entire planet ...
