We have all heard about the sex gap in voting patterns. This is the phenomenon whereby, in every election, women are far more likely to support liberal candidates than men are. For instance, in 1996, Bill Clinton captured 54 percent of the women's vote but only 43 percent of the men's. And in subsequent elections, the male-female gap has been as follows: in 2000, Al Gore, 42-54; in 2004, John Kerry, 41-51; and in 2008, Barack Obama, 49-56. In fact, even in the watershed election of 2010, during which we heard about the rise of the conservative woman, the fairer sex favored Democrats by 1 point, 49 to 48. The Republican victories were attributable to a sex gap (I don't use the word "gender") that was as wide as ever, ranging from 4 to 19 points.
So, clearly, women tend to gravitate toward statist candidates. And there are many reasons for this. One is that, being the more emotion-driven sex, women are more susceptible to liberals' emotional appeals. Another is that where men are big-picture-oriented, women are detail-oriented. This feminine quality is wonderful when handling young children, whose lives must be micro-managed; the problem is that it also leads to acceptance of a micro-managing government -- and such a Leviathan will treat us all like children. And then you have not just a nanny state (a feminine descriptive, mind you), but what we are quickly descending into: The Harridan State.
Yet there is an even greater reason why women veer left, and it's the one I'll focus on today.
They are the Security Sex.

Other areas of womens behavior, such as fashion, are communicated through advertising and multimedia promotion. I believe many women have become more prone to accepting ideas promoted through advertisements and peer attitudes. This plays out well for liberals, too. Of course, this is a generalization.
When you’re looking for a sugar daddy look for one with the deepest of deep pockets.
Sad truth.
Strong and independent feminists are looking for a husband or father in the government. Somebody to protect them and provide for them. Everything about “progressivism” is twisted and deranged.
Hey, don’t be painting with a broad brush there. I’ve never wanted government to do anything for me except provide a military. I don’t even want the post office.
All the liberal moron female democratic voters I know would probably vote conservative, if it weren’t for one thing ....

They’re all SO afraid we’ll take away their right to murder their kids that they’ll vote democratic every time to preserve their “right” to do so.
They are PETRIFIED that we’ll go back in time and actually make them have their babies and face up to their responsibilities — same goes for their men.

The government is not your therapist. They do the same thing with police every time. Women call the police because of reason X and then can't understand why someone is going to jail (or worse).
What a Perfect Response. It seems women have been sold a huge bill of goods by the feminist movement (war to make room for ugly chicks). They have removed the testosterone from a whole generation of men so now they want the government to tell them what to do because genetically they require guidance. The truth often hurts.
Repeal the nineteenth amendment!

Now if there is a movie or news show on the TV, she cannot watch it for more than two minutes without losing interest. She likes the CMT channel because it has five minutes of commercials for every five minutes of show.

I’ve said since the early 1970’s that men and women both want freedom and security, but there is a huge divide.
I’ve heard tell that if you have two men who’s first three priorities are Family, health and career, that the order in which they place those priorities can make them completely different ment. I believe it’s true. The man who orders them Family, health, career will be a completely different person than one who orders them career, health family. For the latter, don’t expect him to be at the kids little league games. For the former, don’t expect him to claw his way to the top while watching said games.
And to the topic at hand, women value security over freedom and autonomy over their own life. men value freedom over security.
To quote GK Chesterson:

Notice he said “man”, and not “woman”.
And giving women the vote is what has caused the relatively swift dash to socialism we’ve seen. Not saying it’s bad or good, but just that it’s the kind of government you get when you add the female vote to that of the men who do vote for security over freedom. It is inevitable and totally predictable.
This is a direct result of no fault divorce and government sponsored out-of-wedlock pregnancy.
What he says is true, but I imagine is deeply, deeply offensive to most modern day women.

It is all generalization, just as it is a generalization to say that men are taller than women, or that women have bigger breasts than men. I’ve seen some pretty tall women, and some pretty flat chested ones - and some men who could use a man-bra.
That doesn’t mean it is not a reasonably accurate statement. 8->
The author nails it.....women follow their emotions far more than men, so liberalism appeals to that aspect.
Also, conservatism is rugged individualism. Women are genetically predisposed to couple with a man, not do all things themselves.
The mother instinct also is a factor.....taking care of the weak, hurt or defenseless appeals to women.
Finally, liberals always use “the children” to prop up their horrible ideas. Women love children.
