Perry to meet with Hispanics and speak out for Israel on fundraising trip to NYC

NEW YORK - Rick Perry, on a two-day swing to raise campaign funds here, also appears to be hoping to rob the Democrats of votes.

The Republican presidential candidate is scheduled to meet Monday afternoon in Harlem with Hispanic leaders.

Some members of the Hispanic community have been disenchanted with President Obama because he has failed to deliver on his promise to enact a sweeping immigration reform bill.

While none of the Republican presidential hopefuls has expressed support for giving some of the estimated 11 million people now living in the U.S. illegally a path to citizenship, Perry has broken with Republican conservative orthodoxy on immigration.

The Texas governor opposes extending the fence along the U.S.-Mexico border as impractical, and has backed offering in-state tuition to students in his state who were brought to the country illegally by their parents.

On Tuesday, Perry has scheduled a morning press conference to express support for Israel ahead of a speech Friday by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the United Nations, where he is expected to seek full U.N. membership for the Palestinian Authority. Israel opposes the recognition.

President Obama is also opposing the Palestinian request, but his support for a Palestinian state, based on Israel returning some of the land it acquired after the 1967 war with its Arab neighbors, has aroused strong opposition among conservatives and became an issue in a New York City special congressional election which Republican Bob Turner won last week in an upset.

Some Hispanics are entrepreneurial. Some are collecting Medicaid and Welfare checks through their children being born here and also obtain free medical care through EMTALA.

If I were Hispanic, I would acknowledge the problem with 20 million illegal immigrants the vast majority being Hispanic and understand the consternation by Conservative American citizens.

Good gad, give it a rest! As Perry said, and can be applied here, “one size doesn’t fit all”, “one size for gym socks” should not be the same for all immigrant conditions.
Not all Mexicans deserve your gym socks treatment, as they are hardly ALL radical, marxist, drug totin, gun runnin’ anchor baby plottin’, La Raza lovin’, welfare sucking Mexicans! The USA is no longer America if you think for a minute we are going to do your “trains thing” and round up all of the illegals and ship them wholesale back to Mexico. Snap out of it! We can make those determinations with a little more finess than that, for crying out loud.

Never. White gentiles aren't allowed to have ethnic interests or countries to themselves, therefore they don't need "leaders".

How weird. Just the other day they were reporting that Perry was a racist.

THEN Hispanics "don't like" Perry.

The FACT OF THE MATTER is LIBERALS don't like Perry, whatever their stripe.

In office November 22, 1963 – January 20, 1969 -- Lyndon B. Johnson succeeded to the presidency following the assassination of John F. Kennedy, completed Kennedy's term and was elected President in his own right, winning by a large margin in the 1964 Presidential election. Johnson was greatly supported by the Democratic Party and, as President, was responsible for designing the "Great Society" legislation that included laws that upheld civil rights, Public Broadcasting, Medicare, Medicaid, environmental protection, aid to education, and his "War on Poverty."

What happened to the bogus lowball 12 million number the mainstream media has been using for the past 20 years?

Haven’t heard much of that but the illegal lobby of so-called comprensive immigration reform has got to be ten times worse in numbers what with twenty or thirty million...

We'll get another about 20 million third-worlders through legal immigration in the next 15 years at current immigration rates. That's naturalized citizens. That's not even counting green cards.

2/3 of all legal immigration to the United States comes under our "family re-unification program". So the numbers on the illegal side really aren't ten times worse.

And I'm not here to harp on you. Most people have no idea the levels of legal immigration or where they come from or how they get here. You may not have known.

You’re behind the times. It isn’t immigration that is the concern now, it is the number of American voters (with Hispanic names) that will be LEGALLY voting very soon. Massive numbers. AND WE WANT them to be conservatives helping to drive free market capitalism, and succeeding, NOT crippled Democrats on the dole.

Those just are the facts.

Thank Lyndon B. Johnson.

Thank all those who refused to seal the border.

But facts are facts.

So we must deal with them.

Well, they're never going to be. Look around the world. 3 out of the 5 major political parties in Mexico belong to the Socialist International. Another is Maoist and their "conservative" party is to the left of our Democrats.

Look in your own country. Believe your own eyes. Conservatism was started by, nurtured by, and stays in existence frankly because of white people. Even most Jews want nothing to do with it.

No other ethnic group in history has ever had the majority of its members embrace the very novel ideal of the liberties of Englishmen. None, never.

Once you come to grips with this, you'll be much more effective in understanding the political landscape.

Politically very smart. I suggest he (same goes for Palin if she runs) also go into black neighborhoods and do the same. Time to ditch the hillbilly image people have of the GOP. As it stands today the 2012 election is Perry’s to lose. I will not mind a Texan back in the WH.

THANK YOU for that information--I did not know anything about the role the Dominicans played in driving out the thugs.

So many US citizens who are "Hispanic" are VERY MUCH opposed to illegal immigration, because they understand so well that giving illegals bennies is just a means of buying votes. But NO CANDIDATE is going to get the Hispanic vote if he blames the people who come here seeking a better life for having that desire. Rather, it must be the vote-buyers, and the system they have established to reward illegals for by-passing the laws, that deserve the condemnation.

I think Perry understands this VERY well, as he also understands that building a fence along our southern border would either involve MASSIVE land-grabbng by the Feds, or--as one Texas poster here points out--building the fence in the middle of the Rio Grande.

A border fence may sound good in theory, but in actuality it could prove to be a practical--and political--disaster.

I believe that the black community is watching Perry. He is a God fearing man. A moral man. A man who embraces everyone. And he wants everyone to succeed. To him government overreach has killed much that is good about this country — it has killed potential. That is the worst — to rob someone of their God given potential.

I’m not voting for anyone who isn’t serious about stopping illegal immigration which means I probably won’t be voting in the next election. How can these stupid politicians differ so much on this issue than the public? I don’t want to hear a damn thing about in state tuition, drivers license for illegals, or anything concerning what to do about these damn criminals, unless it’s about getting them the hell out of our country, until we actual stop the problem of them coming into the nation! We can talk about to with those already here at that point. Illegal Immigration and our bad economy are just as important for the future of our nation. Most people on FR could literally solve the problems if they were given the power over the government. Well they would help more than the government anyway.

Our spending problems and illegal immigration problems more than likely will bring down the U.S. at some point. Most of our politicians are too afraid to make the huge cuts needed because they are afraid it will cause them to lose the next election. It’s the same thing with illegal immigration except there are some who just don’t see it as a problem. We would have to get hardcore Conservatives who only do what’s needed with no thought given to their reelection when working on nation saving issues, and we would need them in control of all three branches. That’s probably impossible even with a large Republican takeover.

Then I wouldn’t be surprised whatsoever if they lost like most fear(which makes many of them act a lot less Conservative in office than when campaigning), because they did what had to be done to save the Union, and we can’t survive if that’s how too many Americans vote. If there are too many Americans who won’t accept these things there isn’t anything we can do to save the nation. Most of those voters aren’t educated on the details of the issues(many aren’t interested in knowing either so I don’t know why they bother to vote),and many are just stupid people who don’t even have the ability to understand those things.

Gov. Perry is for a sealed border.

Putting aside his speaking out against extending a tough border fence, he has adamantly supported a guest worker program over the years as well as opening up American highways to more Mexican truckers, which is definitely not sealing off the border.

I understand and we agree.

This is the fight.

But we need to start where we find ourselves and not where we wish we could be.

If we don’t it won’t be changed. If we fight with each other, it will not change.

It can be done but we need to be cognizant of what has been allowed to happen and go from there and stop it from continuing.

That’s what a lot of politicians must think as well then since they are scared to death to talk about the issue, unless it’s to pander to illegals and the corrupt Mexican government which should be our enemy for promoting the illegal invasion into our nation. The fact is they are afraid of losing the illegal and legal Hispanic vote by enforcing laws that must be enforced soon to save the nation(and illegals do vote). The majority of Hispanics support illegal immigration which is why it’s an issue politicians pander to when trying to win the Hispanic vote and talking to legal Hispanic groups. It’s also because they don’t want to lose their big donors who use illegal immigrant labor.

The TTC was to build necessary road infrastructure in Texas. We’re at gridlock. We have the 3rd largest port in the U.S. — largest container port — 25 mile ship channel — 25,000,000 people — Tucson, San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, El Paso metro plexes.....and we need to build roads and rail to move product and people.

All the “20 lanes from Mexico to Canada with chickens falling off trucks and driving over innocent little children” was ignited by the Left, Environmentalists and an Independent candidate Strayhorn (who had been for it before she was against it).

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2760888/posts#28

“Comptroller Carole Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn, currently adrift on signature collection waters in her bid for Independent Gubernatorial validity, has been a fixture at CW.org events, railing prodigiously (yet without substance) against the TTC, and the very concept of toll roads.”
