If people want to hold these events for personal profit, they’d better expect to be held personally responsible when things go bad.

Not me, I like airshows, and have been to probably 25 of them and was at El Toro airshow during another crash.
I'm confident you'd be signing a completely different tune if your wife and daughter were there, which resulted with missing arms, legs, dead or brain damaged, and you were stuck with millions in medical expenses, mental stress etc.

The only solution to preventing an accident such as this is to ban air races completely. They are unnecessary, they pose a risk not only to the pilots themselves but to the spectators, no matter how far away from the course they are seated.
I believe that this is the end of air racing. I know that Brent Hisey, pilot of Miss America said he is done even if they continue. I would not be surprised if other pilots feel the same.

There is an obvious element of risk in events such as this or nearly anything worth doing in life for that matter.
If this happened to me it would obviously be a tragedy but there is no one id blame but the sheer probability. Don’t want anything to happen? Stay home and live in a self contained bubble.
This “find someone to blame and destroy” mentality for every random tragedy is one if the main reasons for the bondage and ultimate decline for this one greatest of nations.

It’s obvious that you have never flown an airplane because that would violate the risk free society you seek. Shall we ban rodeos and football too? Occasionally there’s an injury at the horse races, let’s close their gates too. Don’t you believe that accidents are possible?
IMO, flying, having total control of the aircraft, is the closest thing to sex there is. I am not going to give up either of them.

But the reality and truth is, if someone broadsides Tabasco and his family in some intersection leaving them broken and twisted for life, he'll be the first to sue for damages.

This is just one example- Air races and airshows feature high-speed low flying planes. Sometimes antique planes pushed to their limit. Failure of some kind or pilot error is guaranteed after enough flight hours. This is not a Sunday walk in the park. If you or your family are purposely near this danger, you accepted the rare but highly devastating risk that came with being there. There is no one to blame, not even yourself for bringing them there. The chance of this happening was close to zero.
I am probably more likely to get injured commuting to work here in NYC than at an air show. You can only TRY to remove yourself from all risk in life. Even then it would be a life not worth living.

As I said before, there is no purpose for these aircraft other than entertainment and there is no way to prevent accidents such as this from happening other than prevent them from flying............
So you make the choice, you want the shows or the legal liability?

How about amusement park roller coaster accidents? Same thing, tough luck? Cover your own life long medical expenses? How about massive train collisions where hundreds are killed, maimed for life etc? How about airline crashes? Tough luck, you knew the risk of the wing falling off?
