Missing Apollo 17 moon rock worth $10m found in Bill Clinton's files (worth up to $10 million)

An Apollo 17 moon rock missing for 30 years and believed to be worth up to $10 million has turned up in files belonging to Bill Clinton. The valuable rock was one of 50 presented to each state after the 1972 space mission.

NASA has found that since the rocks have been distributed, a very low percentage - which are encased in acrylic and mounted on a plaque along with the intended recipient’s flag - can actually be located.

The rock, believed to have a black market value of up to $10 million, had been missing since at least 1980 until an archivist found it in old gubernatorial papers.

Bobby Roberts, director of the Central Arkansas Library System, said the archivist opened a box previously archived as 'Arkansas flag plaque'.

The rock and a state flag were originally affixed to the plaque, but the rock had fallen off and the plaque had been misplaced.

'The moon rock, which is in a plastic container, had fallen off the plaque,' Mr Roberts told NBC. 'The archivist immediately knew what he had discovered.'

In the same box with all the missing “w” keys from the White House computers, no doubt.

I guess that explains the bulge in Hillary’s pantsuit as she was walking out of the White House that last day.

Wrong. Bill used it when he couldn't find a cigar.

Yeah, this sets up for Clinton jokes but did anyone read the story? Was found in a box in Arkansas that was probably from when his office was packed up after he lost in 1980.

Can’t you just see the guys packing up the office - “hey boss, what do you think this is in the plastic?” “Shut up and put it in the box - who cares?”

If the Arkansas state government really has a rock worth $30 million, lost in a file box, they should definitely hock it on Pawn Stars and use the money to give the overtaxed citizenry a break.

And, the moon rocks given to the other 56 states should also be sold at auction. We need the money. Times are tough.

And Hillary’s old Whitewater files. Ahh, the good old days— when the occupant of the White House was too busy with the interns to proactively try to destroy the country.

at least he wasn’t caught trying to sell it to Rick on Pawn Stars.

"I'm bringing in Buzz Aldrin, my moon rock expert. If it's real, he'll know right away...Okay, Buzz says it's real, but Bill, I can't give $10 million. That's not going to happen. I'll give you $200,000. I'd love to have it, but it's a specialized item..."
