Obama Urges Black Community To 'March With Me' Athena Jones September 24, 2011

Washington (CNN) -- While acknowledging the hard-hit black community and budding criticisms in its ranks, President Barack Obama said in a speech Saturday night to the Congressional Black Caucus that he wouldn't give up -- and urged members of the black community to join him to jump-start the still-sluggish economy.

"I expect all of you to march with me, and press on," Obama said. "... Stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying. We are going to press on. We've got work to do." The unemployment rate among African-Americans is 16.7%, nearly double the national average, while 40% of black children live in poverty.

Such facts have made fiscal reforms a priority for caucus members, some of whom -- most of them Democrats -- have criticized Obama for not doing enough on the issue.

They include Rep. Maxine Waters, D-California, who at a caucus "jobs' tour town hall" in Detroit this month described the unemployment rate among blacks "unconscionable." She said the strategy to fix it was unclear, adding that the caucus was "getting tired" of waiting for one. She questioned the president's decision to focus on the Midwest during a three-day jobs bus tour in August, stating that the 3 million who live in Iowa -- and are mostly white -- are roughly equal in number to the African-Americans who are out of work.

She suggested that Obama's administration seemed more keen to focus on that politically important state than on the black community. "Are the unemployed in the African-American community, including almost 45% of its youth, as important as the people of Iowa?" she asked in the statement she released ahead of the president's speech before a joint session of Congress in which he announced his jobs...

Most of the black people in America would do a better job at being President than Barack Obama. And they’d be natural born citizens too.

The fact that Obama can stand there and lie so much to the CBC is just more proof of his insanity...and if they choose to believe and ‘march on’ with him, then they deserve what is about to befall themselves. It’s a shame that their black constituents don’t deserve their plantation krap. Hopefully all will wake up in time and help remove him.

How about Obama tries to be president of a whole country, not a little part of it...for once.

That would be above his pay grade

Remember the seas were going to part? We are the ones we have been waiting for. He was going to fundamentally change this country. Electricity costs will necessarily sky rocket. He mocked the Bible. Who does these things?? Who thinks like this??

His malevolence is tempered by his incompetence, and the fact that he and his minions are sometimes illiterate, and nearly always innumerate..

God blesses Herman Cain to have you on his team. Even though we are on different teams at the moment I hope we are all together to bury Marxism in the USA. I too believe it will be very rough throughout. The media is not on our side. Even FOX. It’s all about ratings, scandals, who is up and who is down, their own political power and profits.

We are going to press on. We’ve got work to do.”

Let me guess..reparations for everyone who votes for him and of course everything is Whitey’s fault. The only way Obama wins in 2012 is if there is no election in 2012..a race riot or something like that occurring. That is what I fear, that Obama and his minions will be so desperate that they will stop at nothing to stop the election from taking place

The only thing Obama’s presidency has done is divide the races more than ever before. The progressive kooks have come out of the woodwork and Ive never seen it this bad before, I guess since in their minds they have nothing to lose so they are just letting it all hang out

I work in manufacturing in Illinois, e-verify resulted in 10% of the min wage just disappearing
Replaced by Americans at min wage, we need two people to fill a single
vacancy
You've never seen any workers less prepared and less willing to do an honest days work

First they came for the Jews. Then they came for the gypses. Then they came for you. I wish our black brothers and sisters would see through all this. They are pawns in a chess game. There is no school choice. Why? This would have which gotten them out of the second slavery (welfare). Do they know who started planned parenthood (Sanger) and why? The original intent was to essentially reduce the black population. Do they know the dem majority voted AGAINST the civil rights act. My hero’s are Schindler Tubman Churchill. They all fought for freedom. I can only prayer for our country and that someday Jackson and sharpton and their ilk fade unto history and MLK’s words become a reality.

Any politician will tell constituents to march with him, get in line behind his banner, or some such metaphor. Calling it race war is overwrought.

The real story here is his contemptuous dismissal of their complaints as them being crybabies. It’s not in him to be otherwise then disdainful of friend and foe alike.

Hopefully, ol' Herman is finally finding his footing. I haven't committed to anybody this early (Fred Thompson built me up and let me down quick in '08), but I do know that the likes of Romney or Huntsman are non-starters in my book already. I'm just waiting for that defining moment when one of the rest emerges as the iron fist in the velvet glove that this country desperately needs.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

Context matters. When Obama gets 90% of the Black vote and now find it fragmenting and with the Tea Party called “racists” gain on you following HR elections of 2010, then the comment would appear colored with a “race war” metaphor.

Poeple in China have been arrested and shot for less. We have no excuse to let this go on in our country and we have no right/credibility to lecture about human rights or such things when we let this criminal activity go on right in our country.

“Obama could have had us (independents, Republicans) eating out of his hand..”

Speak for yourself.

The rest of us knew he was a marxist/muslim/racist fraud long before the 2008 election.

We don’t eat squat from from a usurping traitor’s hand, but you can chow down all you want.

Just ask yourself this question honestly.... Whats gonna happen to Oblidiot in a general election facing Herman Cain?

Ummm hum.

Herman is loved by everyone who takes a minute to listen to him. Do ya think that he will take from the only base Oblidiot has left... the Black community? You can bet your ass Cain will have a tremendous affect in that demographic! You think team Obama FEARS Herman Cain? You bet your ass they do! Think about that!

Cain isn’t attractive because he is black!

He is attractive because of his CHARACTER and the experience he brings to the table coupled with his leadership and wisdom in seeking out other experienced SUCCESSFUL leaders in their fields to run their departments! He just HAPPENS to be black! It isn’t BECAUSE he is Black! He is the perfect candidate regardless of skin color, which I don’t consider to be relevant otherwise!

RAISE CAIN!

Wait a minute. The lessons of Tucson are that we are not supposed to talk about weapons and violent imagery, even in a metaphorical or symbolic sense.

Now, the exception to that is that liberals can still say and do whatever the heck they want. I should have said that only conservatives are to follow the lessons of Tucson.
