McGinniss originally sent to the email to Alaska anklebiting blogger Jesse Griffin asking for help. Griffin has a big mouth, and so I bet he forwarded it out to a bunch of his blogger buddies, and a friend of a friend of the Palins somehow intercepted it and then forwarded it to either Todd or Sarah.
Yep, McGinniss and RH are toast. The Palins are going to own them both when this is over.
So now the Palins own a publishing house.
Cool.
And all they had to do was live their lives day to day.

Or somebody McGinnis ticked off at some point. He strikes me as the sort of guy who tends to leave a trail of enemies behind him. Kept private, that email was his insurance that the publisher would share his culpability and so not be inclined to toss him to the wolves. Made public, however, it's disaster to both.
If the email is real it will be very traceable. Publishers archive email for exactly this sort of affair and holes in those archives not only raise eyebrows in court but negate the publisher's own defenses against other, potentially even more damaging challenges such as plagiarism and intellectual property ownership. There's quite a bit more at stake here for Random House than meets the eye. Only sensational sales (which is what they were after in the first place) could justify the risk, and this little turd is tanking on them. Too bad.
Probably a good thing that Oprah isn’t still on ABC doing her Book Club.

Where is this book’s standing on the NYT bestseller list? Somewhere behind Nancy Pelosi’s book, I’d imagine.
The demand letter also made it very clear that Joe had revoked any lawyer client privilege when he disclosed to a third party in the email what he and RH lawyers were discussing. This means that any and all correspondence RH lawyers had with Joe would have to be given to Palin’s lawyers if she pursues legal action.
This could get very interesting in short order.
I’m afraid that would be terribly disappointing since the writer has no balls to be hanged by!

Doubt it, McGinniss is whining Mourning Joe canceled his interview with him, along with Olberman at Current TV and NPR.
When Joe sowed the wind with his lies, bet he never expected to reap the whirlwind.
