Report: Ford Pulls Anti-Bailout Ad After Pressure From Obama Admin.
the Blaze ^ | 9/27/11 | Jonathon Siedl

Posted on 09/27/2011 8:47:10 PM PDT by Baynative

Remember that clever little Ford ad that showed an actual buyer being led into a surprise news conference and answering impromptu questions? You know, the one where the buyer says, “I wasn’t going to buy another car that was bailed out by the government. I was going to buy from a manufacturer that’s standing on their own: win, lose, or draw. That’s what America is about is taking the chance to succeed and understanding when you fail that you gotta’ pick yourself up and go back to work.”

“was looking at them for my next purchase. Not so keen after this.”

It’s tough to stand up against a fascist administration willing to throw the power of Government (ie, the IRS, EPA, FBI, HHS, DOE, yada, yada) at you, along with Union unrest, SEIU thugs harrassing your kids at school, etc...

There just aren’t many people willing to take a stand against that kind of power, and the corrupt Chicago Socialists know this.

I haven’t seen that ad in a while, and I thank the tyrannical jackasses for bringing it to the foreground. The value and legitimacy of the ad has just intensified.

You should reconsider, Ford is probably the best brand outthere right now, and Toyota has not fixed all their probl
ems and beside they are not far removed from the government of Japan, at least Ford is American.
I drive a F150 and an Explorer and have had no problems
Good luck

Bingo. Obamaand the slime that work for him probably made some serious threats to the leadership at Ford. The scumbags in the entire administration remind me of the Chicago gangsters who threatened to hurt or kill the family of Elliot Ness in the film, “ The Untouchables.”

I have owned 27 GM cars, 39 in total. Not one more with the possible exception of the Buick Regal as I am an Opelholic. The Mustang seems to have grown up nicely and fares well in handling against much pricier competition.
My childhood revolved around the family bodyshop business. I have been an ASE cert technician, detailer, bodyman, salesman, closer, finance manager, sales manager, subprime banker, and general manager. I sort of know the car business.
Three years ago, when the auto business was slowing down but hadn’t hit a brick wall yet I had Thanksgivng dinner with relatives. One of those relatives is an accomplished banker to say the least. He opined that “The domestic automakers are all going down, GM will survive just on momentum and size alone, but they are doomed in the long run.”
I said it would be Ford. Simple car business economics. Slightly less than half of people buy the same make of car they owned. By that math I am including Honda to Acura, Chevy to Caddy etc. While GM was pouring money into Corvettes and Caddy coupes with 550 hp, Ford made a Focus that could be owned for less than the competition and holy crap, they stopped, turned and went like a Honda when they had 130 K on them. The components (AC compressor, alternator, water pump) were all lowest bid offers to say the least, but they made cars that an 18-25 yr old could buy and like.
Take a lesson from the cigarette companies, get them young. Honda never got where they were by building a great NSX. Toyota didn’t get here on a Supra. They did it by building a car that a person could buy and have faith in years down the road. Thats your bottom line builder. Not that CTS-V BMW Killer. Thats what you build when the governmnt feeds you money to succeed.

I just gave Ford a bunch of money. This is my 2 week old baby.

Photobucket

I told the sales guy I wanted Ford to BURY GM. He just chuckled and couldn't say anything bad about them. However, he did tell me a few timest that Obama was an idiot.

This is my 2nd Ford out of 5 cars in my life (first was a 91 T-Bird that I bought used in 91), and my first brand new car period.

And this administration would have made life a living hell for the Ford motor company. They see this muzzi being defeated next november and figured they can weather the storm for another year.Smart business decision imo.Just remember this,Ford did run the add and lots of people saw it and are talking about it.People are pissed that they pulled and they should not be pissed at Ford but at the gubmint.

I am in Iraq right now and can tell you Ford might have not been bailed out in front of cameras and in the press like GM and Dodge, but they were bailed out none-the-less. The number of Ford vehicles in this country alone is staggering. One spreadsheet I saw showed we had spent 500 million on Ford F-350s alone for the Government of Iraq. Couple that with the fact that 8 of 10 trucks over here are F150s and better than half of all SUVs are Ford Explorers. Yes, Ford got bailed out too.

Make me Mustang that looks exactly alike (not similar but exactly alike) on the outside as a 1966 Mustang. Put a real suspinsion in it as the new Mustangs have, a new fuel injected engine like the new Mustangs have, factory air conditioner like the New Mustangs have, a variety of options in relationship to transmissions, and the girl that looks like the girl in the advertisements in 1966, and sit back and watch us baby boomers stand in line to buy it. If she is not available I could compromise for Catherine Zeta Jones. I am not picky. :)

Ubama’s thugs probably reminded Ford that what happened to Gibson Guitars can happen to anybody.
It’s the Chicago Way.

Well, I guess it is toyota from here on out for me /s

Agreed. I currently drive a Toyota, although I do like Fords. However, this action definitely points me in the direction of another Toyota. Respect the President, lose a sale!
