The California Highway Patrol is investigating a series of armed robberies targeting motorists with disabled vehicles on Inland Empire freeways. If you can’t “open fire”, the best thing to do is to get out of the car and hide somewhere in some bush or cover until the fuzz arrive....if they arrive.

Also use your cell phone. Call family or 911. Hide until help comes. Staying in your disabled car is the worst thing one can do.

A few undercover cops posing as disabled motorists would probably put an end to this gig after they sent the perps up the river.

In NY, unless you have a carry permit, you will become the perp if you fire upon the actual perps.

SF and LA disallow CCW on a practical level. I think the cities should be financially responsible for ALL thusly lost property and related injuries.

You do not need a carry permit here in TEXAS. At least not to carry a weapon in your truck.

Eons ago, while watching America Most Wanted, John Walsh told us to NEVER stay in a disabled car. However, if you're lucky enough to live in a state that upholds the 2nd amendment, you've got another choice.

He said make sure to have a blanket, water, etc and to hide out where ever we could find such a place, until help arrives. If no help arrives, it is up to you to find help.

Here in CCW land, this looks like an excellent time to start hunting other game during the deer off season. We don’t even have to pay for the mounting of the target, the morticians will do it for us. Its the hanging them on the walls which will prove problematic.
